Possible suggestion for future Spacex reentry webcasts....I would love to see altitude and velocity numbers for the renetry just like they do with their launches. A ground track map would be cool today. The renetry would have been visible for some of us in the eastern US if the clouds and rain wouldnt have been around this morning

I'm so psyched by this. Before the end of the year, the U.S. will have its human space flight capability back. We may even have two alternatives if Boeing is also successful. Also glad to see it is being done by commercial space flight companies. I'll bet that we will have even more companies doing this in just 5-10 more years. It is the start of a new age in space.

A very informative and inspiring adventure! Thank you for taking us along for the ride :0). May I ask what all the clatter was about in the background behind the narrators? It sounded like a large dining facility with dishes, silverware, being moved around. At another point it sounded like a construction area with a skill saw cutting lumber.

My idea from moon to Mars is finally coming to a reality. I found the ion thruster issue is the design and not the idea. Make them smaller and in strips, other design is adding more rings and shaping it as a cone.

1:13:50 Is it ok for parachutes to bounce back and forth off each other like that?
@NoThrottle5 жыл бұрын
afaik. It is ok. They would always just move away, and reopen completely as air is still going in.
@ke6gwf5 жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that too, and is possibly what NASA was concerned about about the parachute system, and why it was still in Flux. The concern that I see is that under certain wind conditions they might basically braid their lines together and reduce their effectiveness, but it would take a lot of back and forth to get to that point,so probably not too likely.

First splashdown of a human rated US Capsule since Apollo Soyuz back in 1975. Old school is good school!
@loydgravitt77335 жыл бұрын
@Horizon585 I actually did remember Orion but i was thinking it was not yet Human rated. Do you know the status? I could very well have been mistaken
@AndrewSkow15 жыл бұрын
Apollo and Soyuz are two different craft. Soyuz is Russian and still flies.
@loydgravitt77335 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewSkow1 By "Apollo Soyuz" I was refering to a specific 1975 mission called "Apollo Soyuz" in which the last Apollo capsule to fly docked in orbit with a Soviet Soyuz capsule. As such it was the final US mission utilize a capsule design as the Shuttle program took over with the next flight in 1981. I am quite aware of the difference between Apollo and Soyuz, having watched quite a few of the actual Apollo missions as well as scrapbooking the Apollo Soyuz mission.
@wheresmycar95595 жыл бұрын

One thing I cannot find documented anywhere, does Crew Dragon ascend to space in a "heads down" attitude for the crew after launch?
@cosybike5 жыл бұрын
It must do. I'm sure I've heard the commentators mention "Roll Programme"
@ke6gwf5 жыл бұрын
I am not sure what you mean by heads down, but when docked at the ISS the windows and hatch face earth, and I think that it probably is flown that way as well. That would mean that they would have their heads in the direction of travel, and roughly facing the earth, so not what I would think of as heads down.
