Hello Spacies, I have just subscribed to your channel after finding you, and I think you are doing an amazing job so please keep up the great content. I bought myself a Quest 3 and I also have a gaming PC too. I'm about to download this and get it all setup, I'm sooooo excited. I was born in the 70's so I experienced the full glory of all the amazing arcades as I lived in a seaside town in England. I literally can't wait to relive my childhood memories in this absolutely amazing program. Massive thumbs up to the Dev. and here's to him keeping up the great work. I will be definitely buying him a couple of beers 😃 🍻

I fully expect the dev to continue to make this awesome. EMUvr is getting some cool stuff as well, community driven though it would seem. I still wish the EMUvr folks would make more environs. Also i recommend Skyrim VR for getting used to side to side motion in VR. You get so engaged with the content you forget about it with time, and BOOM! VR legs are fully leveled to 9000.

After nearly 900 hrs wasted on retro arcade neon trying to get it working. This really is a joy to play. Set up in less thN 24 hours. Once you do a bit of configuring, it's a lovely experience. It's all I wanted retro arcade neon to be. I just wish you could load into the arcades without having to switch controllers. And just use the VR controls.. but I understand why you would want a joystick.

Great video. Thanks Gregg. What Halfdeck has done is incredible. What a nice bloke to share it too! For me there is nowhere real nearby where I can experience retro arcade cabinets in an arcade environment, so I will definitely be buying a headset for this experience! Plus the VPX pinball ofc! Can I ask you Gregg if you were buying a headset for first time, which one would you buy? Cheers.

Hey mate, yes we are extremely fortunate that Halfdeck has shared this with us all to enjoy! The man has a deep passion for recreating the classic arcade and sharing that with those that appreciate it most! i.e. Us! In terms of headsets, the Quest 3 is the way to go. I would have one myself however the Hp Reverb G2 was the best VR headset for me when it first came out. it's been superseded by the likes of the Quest 3 now. If I was buying today it definitely would be the Quest 3. It's the best and most supported all-rounder at a reasonable price. 👍

@@SpaciesArcade Thanks for that! I had zero knowledge of headsets until this came out, and from what I read I had a feeling it might be the Quest 3. I need to suss out the options like onboard storage, etc as I don't know if that matters, so will do some reading. I think there will be a considerable number of people like me, who might be jumping into VR for the first time, and many of us don't have a clue about headsets. Thanks again. 👍

Not at the moment, you must use your vr controllers to move around and you must use an arcade controller or xinput device/controller to play the games.

Really awesome. I just got this up and running the other day. I know you can change player slots by pulling the trigger at the cab. However the X-men cab has six players but I'm only able to cycle through the first four. Is this your experience as well?

Yep it's a known issue as per the doco "Player 5 and 6 controls for XMen (Nightcrawler and Rogue) don't currently work." 👍

How do you get into sitting mode please?

It is one of the standard buttons on your VR controller (X on a right controller for a HP Reverb G2 for example). However if you are using Vive wands they are currently problematic and you may not be able to sit/stand-up. This is a known issue and will likely be fixed in an upcoming patch. You can however adjust height manually with the + and - buttons on the num keypad. However don't teleport if set below -15 as there is another bug there that will be corrected in an upcoming patch. You can go lower and use smooth motion and you'll be fine. I hope this helps.

I've got a full romset, do i need to unzip it or do i just drag and drop it into a folder? I'm unclear on how to install the roms and all i can find are these complex spreadsheet videos lol.

If you have a full 0.139 rom set then put all of the zip files (one zip file for each game) into the ROM folder. Run ATC and play each game by grabbing the cabinet to start mame which will then load your game rom from the zip files. Then use a xinput controller (like an xbox360 or arcade stick) to play the game (VR controllers are only for moving around). Cheers.

@@SpaciesArcade Idk what i have it's just a zipped folder named Mame that's supposed to contain the games but i don't see them, there's a ton of sub folders etc, someone said it's what i needed. It's really confusing i wish it worked like a standard emulator like PCSX2 or something and i just dump the iso files into a folder and go lol.

@@aResoluteProtector I don't know what you have but I can tell you that you need MAME version 0.139 roms to work with ATC. You don't need the full mame installation. Just the correct (0.139) version of the mame roms. Due to legal reasons I cannot give you any direct links, but that is the rom set you need to work with ATC.

@@SpaciesArcade I see what i did wrong, i downloaded the entire MAME setup instead of just the roms lol. Isolated the roms copying them over now. Almost 40 gigs worth so it seems to be the full collection. Which will be nice to have if they ever add more floors. Thanks, hopefully these work. Might need a new controller though since the last build didn't work with Switch Pro controllers. EDIT: Got it all working. Now i just need a 360 controller or something, Swith Pro controller the thumbsticks don't work lol, everything else does. Oddly enough. You know a good site for ripping MP3s by chance? I used to use Offliberty a lifetime ago but its shut down lol. I need to add some 80's tunes.

Someone please port to Apple vision

It is highly unlikely to ever be ported to apple vision natively unfortunately. All the games would have to be licensed (even without roms due to the trademarks/artwork) or all the cabs stripped out for generic cabinets aka New Retro Arcade Neon. The project is also not open source at the present time and the developer has no stated plans to commercialise it. What might be possible is some sort of virtual desktop application in apple vision in conjunction with a cloud based windows instance. Some have apparently got this working with Quest headsets so they don't have to be tethered to a physical PC. Not sure how the latency would be however - likely not good enough for any serious game playing.

@@SpaciesArcade Quest + Virtual Desktop and a good PC equals a good time. You can play these games and you'll have little to no difference with your controls. I've already beat several games in the Arcade with this setup.

Nice but I still can't find the right roms to install for the games. I understand it is a copyright thing but there must be a way we can get the right roms to work with this game, any help would be apperciated.
