I live just over the hill from you in Nashville. Surprised we haven't crossed paths. I love what you are doing and how respectful you are off Elvis' memory. We're going to have to do lunch one day, like you I have a lot great Elvis stories. Knew J.D. Sumner and Mary and oh the wonderful stories he told. Like you I have heard a lot of these stories first hand from the people involved in them. You have never embellished or added to or taken from a Elvis story. And I love the fact the if you don't know something, you say so, and try to find an answer for us fans. Even being brought up around a lot of Elvis stories, people, etc, you have down an outstanding job in presenting Elvis in a historically accurate light. And what's incredible is that all these stories, (and yes, I've learned a great deal from your videos); they re still so many untold stories people have yet to hear. It's like peeling back the petals of a beautiful flower and being consistently surprised by what we find out bout the man we have all come to love and respect. And I also love Ashley's videos and information. It's just great seeing so many young people take to Elvis the way they have over the last 40+ years. Lots of us went to concerts, hung out round the gates with Uncle Vester or Harold and got stories first hand. I love it when a young person has the same passion for a man they never met, saw in concert, or was their contemporary. Elvis continually amazes those of us that love añd respect the man, the music and the legend; how he transcends almost everything out there. Hope one day to either be up in your area, or more likely you being down here in my area (Nashville) to be able to grab lunch and just remember a man we both love and respect. Thank you for TCB, Elvis would love it. And thank you from a fan, for sharing of your knowledge and yourself in getting the story right. I'm sure people don't realize the amount of time, effort and money you have put into this to visit places that many of us may not ever be ble to visit. Your love of Elvis, the fans and the history of the incredible man is not unnoticed. So thank you.

I am a Las Vegas native and was 4 when I saw Elvis at the International in 1970. BTW, the domed building that was part of the Aladdin hotel was called the "Theater for the Performing Arts" which Neil Diamond opened in 1975. It held 7,500 and was our largest venue for many years. It hosted many concerts and local graduations. It was downsized to 4,500 when the hotel became Planet Hollywood.

Sps Guy, your the best on Elvis history. Las Vegas has changed so much. It makes me sad that they have torn down so many of the old buildings and renamed most of them when they rebuilt. Interesting to see where Ann Margaret's was. They probably charge the $25 fee to protect the wild life from drifters. Thanks Billy for another great Elvis video and for sharing the photos. Gotta watch part 2 and 3. God Bless.

My first trip to Vegas was in 1986. It was still old Vegas. My brother took a bartending job at the Sands and every night Frank Gorshen (aka The riddler from Batman fame) would sit at the bar and get drunk. One night my brother asked him to to leave because of being too drunk and nasty. He turned to my brother as he was walking towards the door and said " you know who I am" my brother said "yes, the Penquin"!! 😃

Las Vegas is what made me an Elvis fan. I started going to Vegas in 1988 to count cards and solely to make money. I'd go about 3-4 times a year and mostly traveling solo. I would sleep all day and play blackjack from about midnight to 10:00 am as it was quieter during these hours and thus easier to find a good game. When you travel alone you tend to socialize with casino employees -- the dealers, bartenders, bellman, cabbies and pit crew. I was barely legal to gamble and the casino clientele in those days was mostly middle aged couples. There wasn't that many young partiers like today. In fact, the Strip today bears no resemblance to those days, sadly it's all been leveled and rebuilt with soulless corporate mega casinos. So the casino employees would often ask me what a young kid was doing in town all by himself. I couldn't tell them I was counting cards so I would make something up. Many of them were longtime employees who'd been working for the same casino for 20-30 years and they'd tell me stories, often times name-dropping a celebrity. Now, at this time I knew very little about Elvis, didn't even know he was a Vegas icon. I was told so many kind and heartwarming stories about him by so many different workers that I started to become a fan just from the generosity I'd hear about. Then I started reading about him and was completely fascinated by his life story. I knew his biggest hits - everybody does - but I started to dig deeper into his music, buying everything I could get my hands on. I was absolutely blown away at what I was hearing, I don't know how I could have been so ignorant to that point. Now 30 years later, I've been a huge fan ever since and will continue to be one forever. I still get to Vegas, though not as often, and I always make sure to include at least one Elvis "connection" on each trip - a location or a tribute artist or something - but sadly it's getting tougher all the time as things get torn down.

Someone else may have already commented, but the circular tower was called the "Champagne Tower" and was essentially the roadside 'Sign' that they had from the early 50's through the 60's. NOTHING is the same on the property ANYWHERE not just the pool... Sadly, they even tore down Bugsy Siegel's penthouse with its escape hatch fit for a mobster... Keep rockin'

That's very interesting. I've always wondered where the made that movie and where Elvis and Priscilla got married. I didn't know the building wasn't there anymore . Seems like I watched a video awhile back about the Flamingo . Didn't Bugsy Siegel ( the mafia guy ) own the Flamingo ? I think he left his kids the land behind it which was nothing but empty desert at the time . They sold it thinking it wouldn't be worth nothing and now they regret it . Not sure if this was the same hotel or not ? Anyway....can't wait to see what else you find out about Elvis and the movie he made with Ann Margaret . Love the big ole fish and the ducks too .

This is interesting. When I stayed at the Flamingo I thought that round building by the pool might have been in the movie but I guess not. I saw and met Donny and and Marie too. The Flamingo 🦩 showroom is nice but those hotel rooms are terrible, just nasty and worn out. Also I met Ann-Margret when she was in Richmond touring in Best Little Whorehouse she was all kinds of nice, she signed some stuff for me.
