It is quite curious, there was a time in the 70's and 80's where in Spain were made different versions of the models sold in Europe. Also we had the equivalent of the z325, with a more simple design but almost the same features... Quite strange. This particular model should have been very popular, you can see it in a lot of craiglists here, and there are more similar models/ variations of this!

Rose was seen with one in “keeping up appearances”

She was indeed. Mad to think that Rose's machine was over 30 years old even back then!

What episode?

@@josephmullin5845 The episode is called “The Candlelight Supper”, and is episode 3 from series 2. The link at the end of this message takes you to a video of that episode. Rose appears with her Electrolux 65 at 20 minutes 1 second into the video. She is trying to get Daisy and Onslow to help her clean the house, ahead of a visit from one of her (many) gentleman friends. It is an older version of a 65, although as you would expect with a cleaner like this, the flex and floor tool are not original, although the hose is, and features a short bent-end, as seen on early models. Also in this episode, at 9 minutes 38 seconds, you can see Liz using a Goblin Housemaid soft-bag upright, complete with working headlamp. Bizarrely, apart from the occasional glimpse of a Hoover Junior U1036 upright which stood to the left of the door in Daisy’s living room in other episodes, there were no other vacuum cleaners featured in this sitcom, which was unusual, because like cars and telephones, vacuum cleaners were props that appeared often in such programs - for example, there were several featured in Birds Of A Feather and One Foot In The Grave; both these sitcoms were running alongside Keeping Up Appearances. And yet, for some reason, with Keeping Up Appearances, the two times vacuum cleaners were used as props were in the same episode. www.dailymotion.com/video/x4mm5zv

Fascinating Electrolux vac Steve, I wonder if they used the tooling from a UK / Swedish factory when they upgraded to the new models ?, love the colour !!

Amazing isn't it? Just had to have it when I saw it on the Broom Cupboard. And as our Richard would say - "love the colour" lol ;)

@@TheVintageApplianceEmporium Oh, fab, well saved, when I first saw it was convinced the exhaust outlet was on the top like the 302, its certainly very different, not quite as bling yellow as the Trident model..!!

Nice video as usual ☺For some reason which I couldn't explain woven hoses always gives poorly results 😟 I noticed that plastic have better air suction and how ever old vacuum is it gonna give better results with plastic one ! I don't know did you have same experience too ?
@TheVintageApplianceEmporium4 жыл бұрын
Yep totally agree. The material inside the hose is like a rubber substance that degrades over time. It cracks and collapses. Fine when the machine is new but at 40 years old it's just no good anymore :(

Does this model have the detachable flex? A very old fashioned design for the time if it did.
@TheVintageApplianceEmporium2 жыл бұрын
Nope the flex is attached to the cleaner

Z75 is the commercial twin-motor machine right? The big blue and white one

@@TheVintageApplianceEmporium is just the same machine as the first you showed (the red one) but it has the 3 peg hose connection and instead of the blue badge it has a simpler elux logo on the plastic lining.

Thank you! I adore the Spanish version of Dancing Queen and when my brain combined "Electrolux / Swedish / 60s & 70s / Spanish" it all just snapped into place lol XD
