Hi Stuart! Your chats with Mark are very interesting and informative. You put a lot of misconceptions about living and working in Spain to rest. Thank you for working so hard for us!

Hello. I`m spanish. I like very much your videos to "educate" my ears to english language, and i must say that your accent is one of the most easy to understand for me. Anotherone so easy is for me Barak's Obama pronunciation. Good luck and thank you for your channel.

Hey Stu, great content, always enjoy your interviews/chatter as one of the most entertaining/informative content, because it goes to the roots, just talking to the people. Thanks!

it's organic conversation between two people who obviously know what they're talking about. yes, they have side conversations, but that's what's so natural about it. it's great content!! 😁

But the Spanish language has a manner of asking something without please that implies politeness. I am Spanish and I always use thank you. At the same time we have the formal “Usted” instead of normal English You, to talk with respect to those older or those we don’t know.

Great Video , I moved to Madrid from UK in 2008 & every day for 8 months got better & better & better! I wanted to come back to UK & grab a certificatio in something & head back to Spain . . . . Financial Crisis hit Spain hard. I'm yearning to move back , I recall spaniards going out at 10/11 pm to start the night. Depedning on where you are , free tapas with every beer. Beers are 2 pints (or where) Mi habilidad de hablar espanol es mal , pero escribe y leyendo es facil! escucha es ok pero hablando, con gente desde madrid, No! en madrid la gente hablar muy muy muy rapido good video , nice timing too

Think twice if you're an expat and think about working and living in Spain. You have to retire one day, and then you have to pass all the red tape to get your retirement pension (which you've paid into) when/if you return to your country of origin!

I agree with everything the guest says. I am Irish and came to Fuengirola in 2003. Had children born here and set up a business. Really can relate. Great video Stu👍

You're comments are so far removed from Almería & Granada provinces. Menú del día Here is between 11€-13€. That includes a drink, starter, main course and dessert. Life down here is a different kettle of fish in Andalusia

Cost of living in the UK is far too expensive for my friends and family. Taxes are higher in Spain but there are always around that. Sunshine is the winner in Spain 👍

Must be hard as a foreign autónomo. Transferring with an international company was relatively easy as you had lots of assistance and were assigned asesores. Otherwise, I think Spain is for Brit retirees with a good enough pension.

Perspective - 2 courses in Sydney - 1 bottle of water and 2 glasses of wine - Salad / Souffle entre Veal / Seafood vol au vent for mains - $200 AUD....(125 euro) - Its becoming unliveable.

You can eat well in Sydney for 60$ inc a bottle of - bring-your-own- wine it depends where you choose to go. Your example is not typical. Yet.

I'd think many Brits returned to the UK after Brexit because they no longer had access to NHS. My own example is Thailand where the cost of healthcare has greatly inflated over the past 20 years and private insurance is unobtainable after a certain age, especially with preexisting conditions.

I always go to the local bodega and chat to the locals here in Barcelona at least once a week; I'm in a mainly South American area so I can avoid Catalan to a degree. When you become a regular you get accepted and end-up chatting a lot in Spanish

Of what I remember to be able to retire before the official age, you need to have paid at least 38-40 years to the Social Security. With all the recurrent changes, retirement age is being pushed further and further back. At the moment, you may retire at the age of 66+ but going up to 67. OK for certain jobs but difficult for others.

40 days for a contract! Been in business in Spain since 1997 and normal wait is 24/48 hours even if the prospective employee has not worked in Spain and has to get a social security number.

10:40 Condolences to the families of the girls killed in Laos 😢🙏 Sadly also two Danish girls were killed along with the Australian in the same hostel NANA😢 NEVER drink alcohol from open glasses or bottles with broken seals or unknown brands...always watch your drink! For sure this also happens in Spain, mafia is all over the world 😉

In Spain they measure the glass of wine accurately but they don't care about quantity when thy serve alcohol, don't you think. Cheers

The rentals in the UK are going through the roof. We have an estate agents here and I’m surprised the price of them per month. We rent to all nationalities including Spanish and Portuguese . They say although the UK rent is expensive they have come here to find better paid employment . They say the food generally in the supermarkets and clothing here can be cheaper.

I would like a special on retirement in Spain as an expat.. what are your rights when you have been working here for lets say 10 years or more, but you are not of Spanish nationality and have worked in other European countries before coming to Spain?

I believe that you need 15 years of full-time work "cotizando" (paying into social security in Spain to collect even the minimum pension.
