Spam is definetly my cup of Tea and Coffee. When people say ewww to Spam I always ask have you tried it? They always say no BUT that they heard from someone that has. I just shake my head, they have no clue what they are missing. Thanks for the tutorial Mark.

You're welcome! I think it doesn't help that SPAM has become synonymous with junk mail these days.

Oh man..I missed it again! 😅 Jet lag is the worse coming home. Glen would love this with the spam. I only just had a cheese mochi for the first time on our trip to Japan. I was able to buy a nice omelette pan from a home store while I was there. Now I need to practice making them. I regret we didn’t have more time or we could have met up. Next time! Take care. 🌺

That looks amazing, Marc. I love fried spam. What do you think of Bachans Japanese bbq sauce? I've been using it in my fried rice the last couple of times and is pretty tasty. Great video, Marc.

Thanks man! Bachan's is basically Japanese yakiniku sauce rebranded. It's pretty easy to make, I've been meaning to post a recipe 😅

oooooooooooooooooo that looks so good! I can't find the leaves though. Even the Asian markets around me do not carry them.

It adds a nice refreshing herbal flavor, but it's not necessary, you could sub in something like arugula, basil, mustard greens, etc.

@@nickmorales8146 Thanks for still thinking of me, Nick! Life has been INSANE here, man....and it has left me so fatigued that I have not had the energy to keep up with making videos. Yes, Thunderjack's whole family is all about that Canadian hunting life, and yeah, they just shot a moose, so you can look forward to seeing me make a moose dish on my channel. Hugs from up north! =)

Oh man, that first bg music is so nice! Curious; would you happen to know of where one could get Japanese short grain rice online? It's severely lacking in my area and calrose rice just isn't the same

YT won't display my reply. There are sources of Japanese rice online; that's where I purchase mine. YT won't let me say where. Good luck!😊

Amazon carries Japanese cultivars like Koshihikari, Tamanishiki, and Hitomebore. As for the BGM, it's AI generated 😅 I used Suno.

This was so delicious! And really easy to make. And also easy to eat!😋 I swapped the egg out on mine for a slice of American cheese and added sriracha. It was a flavor bomb! It seems really simple, but the combination of flavors is really satisfying. I also love the ratio of filling to rice. It was just the right size for lunch, accompanied by a bowl of miso soup.

Thanks, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Good call on the cheese and sriracha! The form factor would work with almost any well seasoned protein.

I like corned beef as well as spam meat. In my theory these 2 are "filling stomach" and ”stays longer". I use it with mayonnaise for temaki roll!

@@NoRecipes many thx!!! hey MARC off topic but do you have any good recipes on how to make a tender POT-ROAST without a pressure cooker...like in a normal oven? Mom and I can never make one, always turns out really tuff and chewy. Like for 20 years now we can't seem to do a good one haha
@NoRecipes
@NoRecipes 26 күн бұрын
@@christopherkanakis Hi Christopher, I don't have a pot roast recipe, but that used to be one of my favorite dishes as a kid. It's pretty simple. Just season a large hunk of well marbled meat (chuck for beef, and shoulder for pork) well with salt and whatever herbs spices you like. Brown it in a heavy bottomed pot on the stove. Add onions, garlic and any veggies you want as well as a enough liquid to submerge the bottom 1/3 of the roast (wine, beef stock, etc). Put a lid on it and pop it into a 300°F oven and roast it until you can easily pass a skewer through the roast. How long will depend on the size of the meat, but it could take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours. The key here is using meat with a lot of connective tissue and intramuscular fat, and giving it enough time in the oven for the collagen in the connective tissue to break down into gelatin.
