That's what always say, every decades has fantastic songs BUT 80s was on another level, the varieties, many super stars of 60s, 70s became legends e g rolling stone, Aretha Franklin, some stars became super stars such as Tina Turner, Elton John, and many stars were born such as Whitney Houston, George Micheal no matter your taste there was something for you; life was even much more simpler. Best decade of music!
@janstan84074 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethtimothy4776 I've watched A LOT of these reaction videos, and I CONSTANTLY see young and middle age people(who weren't into that kind of music), drop their jaws to the floor, or literally cry(for real) with emotion because they did not know this level of quality of music existed. Today's music serves ONE purpose. To make money, and to promote sex celebrity culture instead of musical quality. Sad, sad, sad. Now, it's more important how "HOT" they are, or how "HOT" their video is.

I suspect the unsuspecting might look back at Spandau's earlier singles with slight alarm, given that they were almost a synth-pop group at the outset. "Listening to Marvin all night long". During the New Romantic period (Spandau Ballet came through as a part of the New Romantic movement) young Brits beyond the north were discovering soul music in a big way. And of course Marvin Gaye, one of the great American soul artists had to come to London ten years earlier to be fully appreciated by the industry. The Spandau's were clearly heavily influenced by Marvin 's work. Listen to this again and then listen to Marvin Gaye's seminal masterpiece 'I Want You' (which was recorded in London). I definitely second a vote for "Through the Barricades". I'm very definitely not a "New Romantic" but I did like that song. It is a very sad and poignant song about a time from our recent history that we Brits have hopefully put behind us for good.

Through The Barricades is a beautiful song, possibly Spandau Ballets best. I think you'd like it.

You might want to react to Roxy Music and their song More than this, it is a great song with a great R and B vibe.

Roxy Music were the musical godfathers of Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and the rest of the New Romantics movement

If you like the imitator, go for the original. Mr. Bryan Ferry.

Maybe he's talking about how he feels about a man, not a woman? ;) Plz. react to: "Gold" which was a fantastic song Spandau Ballet did; it has a plot and a James Bond vibe; would have made a gr8 James Bond theme song..
