He’s certainly one of my favorites, but I’d have to rank Morten Harket (of a-ha) and Richard Page (of Mr. Mister) above him, particularly since both of these men can still sing everything in the same key as they sang them during the 1980s, despite being 63 and 70 respectively.

Tony Hadley's voice is fantastic but spandau ballet is rivalled by duran duran during their era as they are contemporaries. Simon Lebon also has great voice. But both of them have differrent singing style & unique voice which made them icons of new wave.

I was a young schoolboy back when this came out and quite liked it even though I was into heavy rock and tended to hate all the bands girls in our class liked! :D (But here in Finland they didn't often listen to Spandau Ballet but likes of Duran Duran and Kajagoogoo) This is a good track, but producer should have noticed the sound and volume level of bass would better suit some band like Whitesnake or Saxon! :D I also liked 'Through the barricades' very much. 'Gold' and 'True' on the other hand are lame as lame can be.

Spandau Ballet was always the one to help us identify with the changing times. I was living in Dallas in 1984 and life was changing so fast! Today I look back on 1984 and wish for those long gone fun loving friends and experiences that make the 1980's truly The Decade that made us. The unbearable part as in the lyrics here; is knowing that part of life has long gone. Blessings to all who understand what I am relating to.
