Today we are going to practice the Spanish -E TO -IE STEM CHANGING VERBS. These changes apply to the Present Indicative and the Present Subjunctive as well. In this video we'll practice the first group of stem changing verbs IN SEQUENCE.

Knew Spanish since birth but I live in a city where there is not that many Spanish speakers so I’m taking it to improve since I didn’t know how to read or write. I was having a hard time understanding the textbook which did not explain but you clearly explained it very well and made it easy to understand than a $200 textbook! Mucho gracias!!

¡Hola amigo/a! The short answer is no. There's no rule for that, it's actually very arbitrary why some verbs change like this or not. Native speakers learn it through trial and error. In a second language you can take one of these lists of verbs and memorize it. I wouldn't worry too much about knowing them all. These verbs shown here are all you need to get started. As your Spanish grows, you will come across more verbs that you can add to your repertoire. ¡Mucha suerte!
