Spanish Tapas Recipes

Spanish Tapas Recipes is the 2nd installment of Latin Apps and Snacks, a cooking series where we focus on the appetizers and snacks commonly served in Latin cuisine! In this video, we serve up a trio of Spanish Tapas: Pan con Tomate (Bread with Tomato) Papas Bravas (Brave Potatoes), and Gambas Al Ajillo (Shrimp with Garlic). You’ll want to watch until the end! Tapas are snacks or “small plates” that originated in Spain but vary according to the region. Tapas can be a snack, or appetizer, or even a meal when you order several small plates. I strayed (just a little) from some of the original recipes by including Serrano Ham and Aji Rocoto (Peruvian Red Chili Pepper). Try one, two, or all three! Just Make It Sabroso!

Hay mate for the patas bravas double deep-fried the potatoes

@ClaudioSilva Actually it’s boiled first then fried once. The secret is adding baking soda when you boil it, then when potatoes are Al dente, stir them around in the pot to create a rough exterior which when you fry makes for even crispier potatoes. Thanks for watching! 👍🏽

Your patatas bravas has nothing to do with real spanish patatas bravas. First, you cooked potatoes too long. Secondly, it should be deep fried. It’s possible to bake them with olive. Thirdly, bravas sauce is without mayo. It’s chopped onion, garlic, bayleaf, oregano, shot of red winegar and tomatoes. All fried and reduced in saucepan.
