I love "Pero Like" videos and I use them in my Spanish linguistic courses. While I get what you peeps are doing here (especially your message at the end), to say that these are "Spanish words that don't exist" (e.g., parquear, poloche, lonche) is more complicated. The fact that many people use these words means that they do exist, especially in a Spanish in the U.S. context. Because words don't appear in some "official" dictionary does not mean they don't exist. Not sure what was your criteria. Just to note that languages are always changing and incorporating borrowings from other languages.

Spanish took words from ancient latin and made it their own, then in mexico they took words from nahuatl and other indigenous languages and made it their own, now words are being taken from english and converted into spanish, nothin new lol

That is why, thought English Technically a Germanic language, Most of its words come from Latin. Why? 200 years as a Roman Colony. 1066 that little brouhaha when the French conquered England. From French true enough but still Latin from French. Thus many Latin derived cognates between English and Spanish. English = 60% Latin, 25% German, Greek 5%. Other 10%.

In here we use emparedado for sandwich, fun fact, when i used to live in Argentina, they called it "Sanguche". Also in Panama, we use parquear not for an actual parking lot but for have fun within a specific place with your friends. Like, "Hey loco, vente vamo' a parquea en la casa'e fulanito". (Very similar to a Dominican accent but a lil' less broke)

Mixing English words to Spanish in Puerto Rico it’s preeeetty common. Even the people that’s not fluent in English use Spanglish words in the island 😂🇵🇷 Examples: parking, corn flakes, closet, sandwich, popcorn, hot dog and the list goes on and on. And it’s weird for us if you say “guarda eso en el ARMARIO” instead of “guarda eso en el CLOSET” 😂 (I even had to look up in google how to say closet in Spanish lolllll)

Us Dominicans get creative with our vocabulary lol 🇩🇴Spanglish is good and all but I think learning to speak Spanish fluently without adding any English allows for you to stay grounded to your roots and pass on your culture to the next generation. If you don’t know how to say a word in Spanish but know how to say it in English, take the time to look it up or ask your relatives, include it into your everyday vocabulary so you’re able to differentiate from correct and incorrect. Those are my thoughts 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

No, anglicismo es una palabra cogida o derivada del inglés pero que no tiene equivalente en castellano, como whisky, fútbol o sándwich o muchas palabras técnicas software, hardware, etc. Otras palabras técnicas si son medio spanglish por ejemplo debug = debugar El spanglish (que es como se llama en España) es coger la palabra inglesa y cambiarle la terminación o algo así para que suene a español, eso lo hacen mucho más en latinoamerica por la cercanía de los Estados Unidos, en cambio aquí en España no hay apenas, sólo palabras técnicas que están pendientes de aprobación por la RAE ej: marketing, jogging, spinning etc

@@chicabcn1967 Lo que estás diciendo son préstamos. Esas sí existen en español porque s e han adaptado y han sido aceptadas por la RAE por no haber una traducción al español. Dudo que ninguna de las palabras de este video estén aceptadas por la RAE, y que son extranjerismos (perdona, he utilizado la palabra que no era), específicamente anglicismos.

Sí existen esas palabras, pero son ejemplos del « Spanglish » . (o del « inglañol » .) No se trata palabras « inventadas » o « ilegítimas » sino de un modo de hablar que se usa para expresar solidaridad entre los hispanohablantes de los Estados Unidos. Claro que no se deberían usar con hispanohablantes monolingües, pero sí existen... en Estados Unidos.

Guys, you know that Merriam-Webste tracks and monitors word usage. That is how slang word make it to the dictionary. Remember when Selfie was not a real word and then it was put into the dictionary. You all should see why we have not done this in Spanish.

Im Mexican American and my mom taught me to call all types of cereal confleis too. Although mexicans always pronunce the s's at the end of each word. And this we did even though cereal is also a word in spanish lol.
