Fill selection lets you fill the selection with blocks. Its great if you are making long or wide sections of flat blocks like a landing pads or want to create a solid block or something like that.

Hey Spanj, another great video for learning Empyrion. What about "Large Builds"? Copy everything save to list and when time to rezz/paste (Green) it shows correctly but the second phase (Blue) it only rezz's/pastes "Part" of what was copied? Is there another process between the 1st and 2nd/ Green and Blue stages?

Thanks for this video. Even thought it is 4 years old, it has helped this new player quite a bit. I have been trying to build a CV for days, that did not take a ton of rare resources. Unfortunately, you have to put a CV pilots seat in it. I had an epiphany while building it though and it looks like it will work. (if I can figure out the logic for that stupid loading ramp)

Question Spanj, I am trying to build a huge landing pad for some of the newer long CV. Can I only have the landing pad so long? Right now I have a "Block count" of 34185. Thanks to your vid I have been able to Copy & Paste but I can't paste anymore on the length.

Inverted Cow Plays theres a simple way to fix it now. This way your compass wont be all f'd up lol

Sadly unintuitive. But you saved me having to remake my ship because I went over the CPU limit for tier 1 (we don't have access to materials for t2 on our starter planet). Now I can just chop the middle out and shrink it. Thank you

I noticed you had the "You cannot place this block on a capital vessel" message... it's the reason I came looking for tutorials. What causes this and how did you get it to paste regardless? I'm working on a capital vessel for the first time with a friend and we realised we want a particular part about 3 blocks further forward but even though I'm copying the selection of blocks from said capital vessel, it wont let me paste them and is giving that warning... makes no sense to me at all.

The arrow thing is typically called a "gizmo" in 3d software :D

Is there a way to use the copy and paste but either change the block types (say from combat steel to regular steel), or would you leave that silhouette there that you get from the first time you select paste and treat it as sort of a fill in the blanks deal and just rebuild that entire piece with the desired block types?

They still haven't fixed the symmetry with paste. Imagine that cargo pod selection was something less rotationally symmetrical, the paste tool is of no use, have to build the feature again for the mirror image.

Just discovered the "N" cut copy paste function , was working now its not. Everywhere i read ; the answer was reboot , restart so forth an its still not working , wish i had some hair so i could pull it out. Will wait a couple of days as one person stated , hmmm wheres a wig

I tried figuring this out myself.. I managed to copy the thing i needed, and then i pressed Paste. It just put down the hologram. And i didnt think to then... press it again... And this i came here.. to be told, to press Paste twice, to paste.
