I actually think the main concept of the story is pretty good, a damaged science-fantasy world that's been partly cast through a vortex to a desolate wasteland. But the rest of it is just a tacky hodgepodge of more popular movies. Still, it looks at least tolerable, definitely a step ahead of something like Agent F.O.X.

Feels like Spark is greatly missing Donkey Kong and yelling "BANANA SLAMMA" as he just punches and beats his way through the bad guys and become king himself on another planet. Although knowing DK, he would probably throw in several nonsensical improved songs about coconut cream pies.

Oh hey, I saw this movie in Walmart a few weeks back. I felt it was supposed to be a retelling of "Journey to the West." Guess I was wrong, but, damn, is that one awful main character. I mean, having a main protagonist that is a bit of a brat but learns to overcome his shortcomings is a pretty normal trope, but I did not feel he earned that happy ending. He fucks everything up and then gets lucky when everyone else basically fixes everything and gives him powers out of nowhere. Also, never seen Starship Troopers so when that scene popped in, just... eep. Guess I'll be skipping that movie.
