Comes in either a 500 watt or 750 watt (Canada-USA) Bafang fat-tire specific hub-drive, 48v 17ah high capacity battery, with thumb throttle and 9 modes of cadence based pedal assist. A lot of great features like included plastic fenders, battery integrated lights in the front and rear, bottle cage bosses, adjustable length kickstand, and rear rack. Guys. Finally bought the RIZE mini bike a month and a half ago. NO REGRETS (YET). Total Spent $2,500CAD (+$300 for hydraulic brakes and 19.2ah battery. +$50 for assembly on pickup). So because I was lucky and live in Vancouver where the headquarters is, I got to call in ahead and tried the bike at their office. The customer rep Jay, went above and beyond to help me out, he even unlocked the speed limit for me :) I was pretty much sold after 10 minutes of testing. I bought on Friday afternoon, and the bike was ready for me Tuesday afternoon fully assembled and ready for pickup. No issues. Previously I had tested both the Rad Mini Step Thru white and black and now MY Rize Mini in Black. I'm not sure if the bikes I tested at RAD scaled down the sensitivity or speed for safety but it was slow going uphill although it made it. The Rad Mini also sort of slowly eases into full speed when throttling taking longer to reach full speed whatever that is. I think I hit 25-28km/hour only. I'm not sure if it could have went faster but it was my first time testing an e-bike and I didn't know better to ask the guy to unlock the speed. Was a shame because I did my research and I was literally ready to buy the bike, it does in my opinion still LOOK better visually than my RIZE bike. I kept test riding to give the RAD bike the benefit of the doubt until finally by the time I rode back to the store they were already closing. Unfortunately I never made it back. Fast forward to my Rize bike. The moment I tested the bike it was a monster. Fast & Fucking Furious. Unlocked it can go up to 45km. Solid Hydraulic brakes with suspension and light both front and back. The RAD may look prettier but the RIZE is as someone told me "more bike for the buck". I mean...19.2ah. I went out today with 100% battery and came home 2 hours later with 100% battery. Wtf. The ONLY thing I think this bike can do better at at it's price range is to allow for a mounting basket in the front of the bike as there is no attachment screw thing available for modding in the front. So I guess you can put one of those bags on the back rack or wear a backpack. RAD does accessories better than RIZE with more options but man those add-ons are expensive AF. Another thing I learned is when you buy a U Lock buy one that is LONGER because the bike tires they are fat man, and the average U lock is a tight fit around the bike tire and a pole. Overall, because of such a sick bike and such a great dude behind the customer service desk (Jay). I can't recommend Rize enough. Ball is in their hands I hope they don't drop it! Knocks on wood. PS. will update after more rides.

Hey Chiko. Finally a review that's current. Glad that you're loving the bike, man! After reviewing a lot of different fat-tire bikes, the RIZE MINI remains in my Top 3. But before I decide (and also to help others thinking about this bike), let us know what your thoughts are regarding the following: 1) There's no USB on the display. Would be great to have a power source nearby to charge a GPS device, or phone. Any suggestions? 2) The company seems fairly new. They even changed their name from SPARK, to RIZE within a year. Customer support is very important as you know - especially if you're buying online and physical accessibility is not practical. You seem to have hit it off great with a guy named Jay, but let us know what you're overall impressions are about the company and their responses to your questions, or concerns. 3) They assembled your bike for $50. That's great. But for many people who are purchasing online, they'll have to assemble it themselves. I asked RIZE how difficulty it was to assemble, and they simply said you just have to add the pedals and handlebar. It can't be that simple, especially if they're charging $50 to assemble it for you. Did you have any insights on that? 4) Is the battery lockable on the bike? 5) Any regrets not buying the RAD MINI? 6) New updates? Thanks, man.

Just bought one of these 3 weeks ago. Very nice ride. Added SP12 NCX suspension seat post works really well. He missed or didn't know you can change the number of assist levels to 3, 5, or 9 on the screen. Needs to be done in the settings. I also run mime at 10psi on the front and 12psi on the rear tire. Makes the steering less twitchy. I also had some nice panniers from an older Giant mountain bike which fit this one really nicely. Love the bike!!

Pardon my naivete, but is that big bar going from the seat down to the read axle a kind of crash bar to protect the machinery in that area. I love this bike, but the rear half looks very messy and not streamlined, plus having the battery located in a very old-style position IMO.

Another great, detailed video review by Court of EBR ! After seeing/reading on a lot of HQ folding 20" fat tire ebikes over several weeks, i think this SPARK BIKES MINI is so far the BEST overall (and with the best features for the price).... Some additional UPGRADES i would like to see as standard (which i wouldnt mind paying a bit extra for) are : an ELECTRIC HORN (louder/safer for pedestrians and traffic), a simple, vertical SUSPENSION SEATPOST, metallic-BLUE RIMS and choice of either a BRIGHT RED or BRIGHT GREEN accent on the F/R of frame (safer/easily seen in traffic and would give it a much more pleasing/attractive appearance).... A MAJOR practical addition for the purchaser to add would be a Portable Rear-Rack Bag (attaches to a rack by velcro straps), with a handle, multi-pockets, and two fold-out side PANNIER BAGS (for food market shopping, etc). A few different versions (named Rukey, CamGo, etc) are available online for around $30-$40. TOPEAK has a Quick-Release Rack Bag (with fold-out pannier bags) at over $100, but with TOP quality features (NOTE : for use on non-TOPEAK racks, their pricey optional rack adapter-plate is required for the QR feature).

My husband and I bought 2 of the Bolts about 9 months ago. Then afterwards we heard they were being rebrands as Rize Bikes. We loved the bikes however my husband noticed his chain was skipping. Upon inspection he has discovered that the rear sprockets on both of our bikes are wearing down. We have tried to find out were we can get new ones or repairs. No one touches them! I have 345km and he has 1230km on his bike. Totally road and city driving. There is no reason why the metal should be wearing. Anyone have suggestions.

Better deal than the RAD Mini as RAD charges extra for the fenders and rear rack which can add up to $240 - for a RAD bike which is already $400 more. So for an equivalent RAD Mini it cost $640 (CDN) more than this bike.

It seems they have decided they can't supply the US market currently, might have something to do with tariffs and volume from China into America; MATE-X ran into the same issue and had to move production to Taiwan, it seems both America and the EU have put tariffs on Ebikes out of China, which is really stupid because we have no mass production ability for a sector that is exploding. It's good in that you get it cheaply (except the real price is more like $1000-1200, but compared to $2000 bikes, it's still cheap at 1,6k and with probably somewhat better warranty and support), depending on how much profits the re-sellers, like Spark Bikes want to add on top of the chinese factory price. It's bad when most of these re-sellers try to keep it a secret that they all come from the same factories in China.

On their website there is no sizing chart or stand over height & the dimensions are mostly metric except for wheels & folded. You didn't mention customer service in this review, like you did for RAD. I'm a new sub & only seen about a dozen of your reviews...seems that their is some bias on your reviews, you only cover most of the same items. Important things like customer service should be in every review. Also You should have a regular size man working with you .

Some KZbin presentation suggestions: Eliminate "like" as a rhetorical filler; something IS or IS Not. Nothing is Like. Eliminate the hand.waving. Use a pointer or simply cite the object you are critiquing. Use a (? better quality) clip-on microphone. And, for God's sake, WRITE out a CheckList that you then use as a Guide to prevent Rambling. Either be Professional or get off the "stage." Please.

Here's some positive things about Court. He doesn't mumble. He is quite thorough in his reviews. He's a gentleman. He has enthusiasm for his work. He provides a great service to many people including e bikers. When he tosses in a few filler words here and there, that' s fine with me. And when he waves his hands around, I can handle that. He also asks for feedback. In the end, it's HIS show,HIS style, and HIS dime, but FREE for us viewers. Don't like it? Then as my sis- in- law says," BAG IT"!
