Hello everyone! I'm Holly and today I have a new video showing the making and cutting (and cleaning up too) of our Summer Beaches Soap! This batch was definitely a more difficult batch. This is a favorite soap though and it is scented in a fragrance reminiscent of a day at the beach - with notes of sea spray, salt,
jasmine, mandarin, warm sand,
and sunscreen. This soap will be available with our next release coming in the last half of July! Be sure to follow us on Instagram and/or Facebook to better stay up to date!

(This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
30% Lye Concentration
6% Super Fat
40% Olive Oil
20% Coconut Oil
10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
10% Rice Bran Oil
10% Castor Oil
10% Cocoa Butter
1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
*Per Pound of Oil
I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.
Missouri River Soap is not responsible for any outcome that results from testing this recipe. Follow all safety precautions when handling sodium hydroxide and making cold process soap.

I love how humble you are. These are INCREDIBLE regardless of what you're saying. I also love that each batch looks a little different. It makes them unique. These are absolutely gorgeous. I'm impressed with how well you worked with it seeing as you mentioned you were quite flustered lol. Couldn't tell. You're so talented. We are always harder on ourselves. I get like that too and then if I mess up a batch, divvy it out to family or sell as oops bars when I don't really need to haha. I'm trying to be more patient with myself.

Thank you so much August! I do think the batch turned out great. I just knew I could do better and was hoping for the same results. But once I get past the initial shock of such things, I do tend to like what I have created.

Looks like a sea view with blue sky, water, wave, whitecap.... worth the effort, but good idea of splitting it up and not making the first layers knowing the rest of the batter is "waiting" and generating stress. They look very pretty and smooth!

26:28 “So when I do this again… And you know I’m gonna do this again. Nothing’s gonna stop me!”😁 Yes, that’s the spirit! ❤️ If something goes not as planned, that’s only a chance to learn, not a failure. Especially you can’t call such a beautiful soap a failure, but I understand wanting to have the result exactly as you planned it 🤗

Even if it had the holes and the stuff you weren't to happy about at the end. THATS OKAY YOU HANDMADE IT THE LOVE AND CARE IS ALL THERE!!! I've never made soap but just watching that process ANYONE could tell that particular soap you make should be more $$ BECAUSE ALL THE TIME YOU TAKE ...handmade is worth more then company on a conveyor belt with no real art or care Godbless you chickie💯🥰🥰

@@moriversoap absolutely!! I support small business especially things like this. These are fundamentals to be self sufficient and not depend on government or big business who literally put poison in our soaps/food/hair products.. everything... just not enough people care to really check what's in stuff.. but I hope my words helped you feel more comfortable with your art. Because you made soap making an art!! It's beautiful I would buy that and just put in on my bathroom shelf as decor Because its beautiful. Then buy another one to really use lol I'm not even kidding 😂 many people would do that too I'm sure especially people in the city like me. Don't ever sell yourself short. Handmade anything is more $$ .keep making your beautiful soaps! 💪💪

Your soaps always look beautiful no matter what happens. Thick batter or that fragrance oil that is hard to get along with. They always look great!

@@moriversoap you’re welcome! I’m glad you showed your planer. That’s what I meant to ask for one I sent you that message was the planer. I ordered one from Amazon and the blade sticks up so far that when you go to planet it takes off like half of your soap it is ridiculous

I want to say thank you for showing this video and the frustrations you were having. It shows others that no matter how long you've been sopping you still have those days that just challenge you. Most videos I see go smoothly and that's not always the case :) Loved how it turned out and your design gave inspiration.

Oooh, it's so gorgeous! At ~2:30 you're a pouring genius, haha! I love layers and I love in the pot swirls, and I was totally sweating around the time you started pouring the third layer. Seriously my heart started beating faster as I flashed back to my last attempt at something in this vein. You're simply awesome, Holly 😄👍🏻 Thanks for the video, it made my morning.
