Great updates. I am someone who NEVER takes off jewelry. I go ocean swimming with it, pool swimming with it, shower, sleep. I don't usually remember to take my rings off when cooking/baking either.

Great tips! I rarely wear rings anymore but when I do, they come off at night. I have diamond studs in my ears that are difficult to put back in after cleaning due to their locking backs, but afterward they are so sparkling it’s worth the effort. The last jewelry gift my late husband gave me was a diamond necklace that I never remove, except for cleaning.

I only wear jewelry for special occasions now, but I used to wear some more often and would always remove it to cook, take showers etc. Even to sleep.

You can keep necklaces from tangling by running them through about 3” of a straw when storing. Drop one side through and attach the clasp.

Oh, gosh. I never remove jewelry. I really like the layering tip so will try it. I was always afraid to use baking soda and aluminum foil for fear of ruining jewelry but will give it a try on some very old tarnished earrings. Thank you!

Especially since I retired a couple of years ago, I have transitioned to just simple pieces that I NEVER take off (well, I do try to take off my rings a couple of times a day when I do a “good” hand lotion application), so these tips are great for those needed periodic cleanings. I was told (many years ago) to put my diamonds/gold in a little bit of ammonia and warm water to cut the grease and oil build up and have always used that, but I suppose dish soap should do the same but be gentler… can’t wait to try the tin foil silver cleaning hack!

I’ve watched your original jewelry cleaning video! Glad to see the updates. Just got a new wedding ring set because the solitaire in my original engagement ring popped out and I lost it! 😢 But the new set is beautiful and I want to be sure I’m taking care of it the right way. ☺️

Yes! Always remove my jewelry!! I think you inspired me to clean out my top dresser that has felt compartments! It’s a hot mess of jewelry I don’t even wear anymore and my good jewelry is left on a tray on my dresser. Makes no sense. Time to tackle that project!!!

I haven't been wearing jewelry to work any more so I can keep them gunk free as long as possible. But I clean my rings in hydrogen peroxide. Just let them sit for 30 mins or so then wipe clean. I don't know if that hurts the diamonds or the gold...but so far so good. Love the multi necklace idea!

All jewelry comes off before I go to bed. I don't wear it in the shower. I even remove rings before cooking or baking. I like my jewelry, and I want it to last. (I never understood the fixation on being able to sleep in and showering while wearing jewelry.)

Mostly remove at night and for showers/baths, except for my wedding ring and another silver ring that I always leave on. I should really clean both of them!

I have 1 piece of costume jewellery that I really look after, it's by avon but vintage, designed by Dior, I don't wear it often because I don't know if I can clean it, but it's beautiful. ❤

I remove my jewelry as soon as I get home from school, shopping, etc. I have caught my jewelry on simple things at home, even breaking it (I’m such a klutz!).

Yes ma’am I always remove my jewelry every night every time I take a shower and I always wear gloves when I wash dishes (on those rare times that I do). I learned to do this because my ring has a tall presentation and the edges would tear through gloves.

Any advice on cleaning pearls? Mine are in combination with gold. Can I also soak them in hot water? Would it be safe? One example: gold studs with, I suppose, glued on.

What is your thoughts on mixing silver and gold? I always heard it was a no-no, but I was recently told it is back in style. Thank you for your opinion.

How often should an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner be used? I purchased one but wasnt sure the ideal frequency to use. I remove my wedding set when applying creams, cleaning, showering, exercising, and sleeping, so my ring stays pretty clean but even with all that it can still get dirty. Thanks for the tips!!

Earrings never come off, but I have multiple piercings and they’re all studs. I wash my ears well every day in the shower and remove to clean as needed. Necklaces and rings come off after work!

I unfortunately am I who never removes my necklaces or my thumb rings. On the other hand, I have a habit of not wearing my wedding rings or mothers ring when I am home because I am always cleaning, or taking care of kids and I am nervous that they will get dirty, or I will loose a stone ect. I love the tip about layering your necklaces. I have always loved the way that looks, but I have just layered them the old fashioned way and they get all tangled and look bad.

I never ever wore any jewelry except for earrings, as a nurse. Not only are you washing your hands dozens and dozens of times, but they can get caught on the gloves or if the rings get to close to a patient (I was a mother and baby nurse), you could easily scratch someone.
