I have commented your videos before. And again this is real good stuff.👍This is how one learns how to box. And unfortunately there is a ton of boxing gyms out there that don't understand this. Boxers that are doing unrealistic drills that you won't have any benefit of in real fights and second many gyms sparring are more like a fight, where the guys won't develop at all.

Thanks for the upload. Really good stuff 👍🏼 I’m not a fan of all the torso swinging and ducking like Canelo. If the feet aint movin The technical advantage can be taken by the other boxer. It also uses a lot of energy and causes imbalance. Risky in fights.

Tyson has already been broken down by countless channels on KZbin. I would personally love to leave it up to the coach and let him do his own thing since those breakdowns also made me aware of some boxers I haven't heard of before. Just my two cents, be good gents!
@myworkshows23982 жыл бұрын
@@justseven3487 haha I already said that in my comment. Like I said I want to see what the coach sees differently than all the other videos. We all see different things and learn to go deeper in knowledge and understanding. I want to know what he sees that other breakdowns have missed ? From his point of view and I also did say that IF he could?

Great video Coach, I have a question, one of the young men I train has a lot of power behind his punches naturally, and it's been very difficult for him to learn how to keep that power in check during sparring, what can I do for him to learn how to throw lighter punches but still remain competitive whenever he spars?
@TBO2488 Жыл бұрын
If it’s natural power and his fundamentals are sound I don’t see how he’s going to try and reduce that power tbh. He just has to snap them punches and not load up on them
@simpletomasboxing Жыл бұрын
@@TBO2488 Yeah, since the day he entered the gym and I felt his hands, I knew he was going to be a power puncher, he's a little stiff but has come a long way.

5:28 Point Scoring. Actually I think this is how the real Amateur Boxing is supposed to be. It helps the boxers execute thoroughly the philosophy "Hit and Don't Get Hit"
@achabe83612 жыл бұрын
I disagree; I think that "hit and don't get hit" is a great philosophy because it can sure be beautiful, but most important, it can be effective! And how do we know if it is really effective, if we don't try it against aggressive, determined boxers? I think that the actual fighting is inherent to boxing, it's in its identity, its core. To box only on points would drive boxing towards a tae-kwon-do style direction that I wouldn't appreciate, since it would not be much of willpower or toughness anymore, and only a technical one. I say it because I think that technique is an essential port of boxing, but determination and heart aswel. The boxers will eventually become more and more polished and technical as they gain experience and get closer to professional level.
