I hope Spartan Blades' reputation and quality doesn't suffer. KA-BAR sheaths are known to dull knife blades.

Can you do a spartan version of the Sog Seal Fx?? It's my favorite knife, but I always wondered how awesome it would look in kabar material and finish

Cool. Oh & btw The original WW2 daggers that were issued were sharp & could cut as demonstrated in the fighting manuals & training vids. However most of the ones people got their hands on were surplus models which were left dull from factory.

"Fairbain" had me laughing. For anyone confused he means the Fairbairn(Fair-bear-n) Sykes dagger which got its name from its designer William E. Fairbairn. Fairbairn not only taught the British SF of WW2 but also American commandos. His design would go on to influence the Ek Commando dagger, the Applegate dagger and a hand full of other legendary daggers since. He also developed a fighting system sometimes called "Gutter fighting" which was at times marketed as "Defendu" and his books can still be found and purchased today under the names "Defendu" and "Get tough". He was a badass dude who worked as law enforcement in one of Chinas most violent regions and survived countless knife attacks and was famously covered in scars from knife wounds. He firmly believed the knife was by far the deadliest weapon in close quarters especially in the capable hands. Ive been looking forward to the Fighter on that table since I saw it last year, wish it also came in a better steel though. You also seemed to have missed out on their other new product coming I think next year which was a classic MK2 Kabar fighter in Magnacut which immediately landed itself on my bucketknives list.

Thanks for the additional information. I believe I also read about the Fairbairn Sykes daggers in a book called “The World Encyclopedia of Daggers and Bayonets “ 👍

@@LuvThemKnives Its one of the most famous WW2 knives around, arguably even more world famous than even the Kabar USMC MK2 which is really saying something. Both the blade and the men behind the blade have an incredible history. You can even find old footage here on KZbin of him(Fairbairn) teaching both Americans and Brits how to use it. His methods were famously brutal and believe it or now the Germans actually feared the British more than they did the Americans when it came to close quarters. That time period is wild. It was a common sentiment in Europe than knife fighting was brutish and undignified. The overall mindset back then amongst the upper brass was surprisingly old fashioned, the development of camo was even resisted by the top who argued that the fighting men would rather stand and fight like men rather than hide, even when some of the forces ignored them and tried it anyways and found out it made a massive difference in casualties the upper brass still refused and basically was dragged kicking and screaming into eventually allowing it to be common use. Apparently even today there is still this reluctance to shift to new more innovative ways of warfare, like with drones, they dig their heels in rather than change. Point being just that knife combat was frowned upon back then as thuggish by the higherups on all sides and civilians as well but the soldiers only cared that they accomplished their missions and survived and the ones leading the men on the field shared the same priority, get their men in and out and home intact. In the end they couldnt continue to ignore the result and the men didnt care what their enemies or their generals thought so long as it worked and worked well. The Faibairn and those who wielded it terrorized the enemy, especially at night when its knack for silent kills was the dread of every night watchman. It also inspired blades like the V-42 stiletto which was carried by the famous Devils Brigade and the M3 combat knife which was carried by the airborne division and the Army Rangers.

They have the other daggers at better steels, so this one lets us get in at a cheaper price for a similar blade

I just ordered this Spartan George Raider dagger 🗡 and I have the Spartan Harsey Fighter, it's a tank. Awesome blade. However the DBK guys snapped the new Spartan Kabar in Magnacut, just doing some light batoning... save your money on that one.

Just blows my mind cold can make a blade in Taiwan it cost $35 . Spartan makes a knife from the same steel around the same amount of steel $150. The prices of production knives are just not worthwhile. Don’t see anything useful

Which 1095 knife made in Taiwan is $35
@richardhenry1969
@richardhenry1969 Жыл бұрын
@@49giants3 schf36 it’s actually $29. How about American made 5160 $56 Ontario sp53, what about a great steel 80cv $75 with a leather sheath. Marketing is ridiculous knives made now aren’t worth the price. They make them open fast and drop shut. But not cares about comfort or cutting ability. It’s all made to look fancy.
