a testament on how brutal that course was. even this energized man was robbed of his energy. i finished in a little over 7 hours and it was the hardest beast i’ve done. can’t wait for next year. great video and funny as always

I was hoping to see you and say hi! And get some extra motivation lol That beast was brutal! I did exactly what you did of sliding down the snow hill. It was a bummer that they canceled the races on Sunday. I really wanted that Trifecta. I was halfway of the Super at the Helix when they decided to stop everything and turn in our timing chips.

Great video! I can’t believe someone could be so cheery doing Big Bear Beast. And you forgot to mention to the unwashed masses that this was a double loop (with a free banana halfway through) and a DNF bloodbath! 628 people never saw the finish line. (I did, after just over 10 hours.)

I have a question..l have been doing just 5k missions that l am new too and l work out 4 to 5 days a week ..l want to do a Spartan Sprint next year.. what training do you recommend if l get my nerves up to do a race😊😊😊

Keep it simple. Wear a weight vest. Carry some weights and go for a 3 mile walk 4 times a week

This 21k big bear beast event was the first of my 2023 trifecta; did the Monterey 5k sprint and San Jose 10k super to complete the trifecta… Previously had only ever done the 2018 San Francisco stadium sprint 5k (at the time AT&T Park, now named Oracle Park)… Currently signed up and set to do the upcoming Dodgers Stadium stadion 5k Feb. 24th as well as the San Jose Ultra 50k on March 30th (Easter weekend). Anyone with advice or tips for the ultra please let me know :)

Do a ton of stairs or hills with weight. Then do a ton of push ups and pull ups. Then combine all into one huge workout each week
