Spartan, Walter isn't a villain. He's the protagonist. He's no more a villain than Jesse or Hank. He's the "anti-hero" of a traditional hero direction. Think Sasuke, Geto, Vegeta, Uryu, Dexter, or the punisher. These guys aren't heroes nor are they the villains. They good and bad ultimately fighting against the real big bad. Dexter was a serial killer of murderers. He's what Light wanted to be but Light was more corrupt than Dexter. In death note, light is the protagonist but he's a villain archetype. The Punisher is a vigilante like Batman. Unlike Batman, he kills people serving his own sense of justice beyond the courts. His nickname is "judge, jury and executioner." He wasn't a villain but an anti-hero. Sasuke, despite his decline, didn't kill innocent people. If anything, he purposely avoiding killing people they Orichimaru wanted him to kill and made sure his team didn't kill unnecessarily. Even when trying to destroy Konoha, he didn't kill any innocent. He's an anti-hero. Walter White, didn't kill anyone innocent. He killed Emilio and crazy 8, he killed Gus and Gus men. He killed Mike, a professional hitman. Unlike Jesse, who killed Gill. Even though Jane died choking on her vomit, he didn't kill her, her drug use did. Neither of them technically are Villains even for hurting "innocent" people. They're anti-heroes. So the real question of this series is, who's the real villain?

Idk what yall are talking about he's literally the definition of a PSYCHOpath, he feels literally 0 remorse or feelings whatsoever as evident by the obvious kid shooting-tarantula trophy, even more so in El Camino, and his smile during the footage recap this episode - also the lack of concern or emotion from the death of his uncle and uncles crew behind him, his response is a blank "Mr. White" before hes choked. And no he did not almost cry seeing Walt watch Hank whatsoever, all he said was "sorry" and looked the slightest bit confused IMO aha. Im assuming uncle jack was a pretty profound influence on him so his psychopathy makes sense really.
@Arte82210 ай бұрын
@@gandhialwaysleavesanonion679Sociopath and Psychopath are almost interchangeable sometimes. Sociopath is just a short term for Antisocial Personality Disorder, and the lack of remorse or emotion is a more of a sociopathic trait though both can have that trait. Todd had features of both but he was more of a psychopath because sociopaths usually struggle in life maintaining jobs, relationships and they tend to act out more, can be emotionally unstable and usually can't be relied on. Psychopaths are better at blending in because they can almost seem normal, can build normal relations, usually can keep a stable job, be relied on ,etc and usually have no problem handling things when they need to be handled, even if it means doing something bad. Todd was obviously trusted by his uncle and those around him, so he didn't have an issue with relationships or his family, which sociopaths usually do. Todd also had a crush on Lydia, and sociopaths don't tend to have any of those types of emotions

He probably saw horrible things during his formative years and had zero guidance. That little boy saw death and shootings on the regular. Even if he was put into foster care, that can be just as bad, they might have even given him to a family member "like an uncle." I agree. ME1 has the best lore and world-building, ME2 has the best crew/personal stories and ME3 has the most emotions

"This ending is disgusting" The slow turn to show the true nature of all these horrible people you've been rooting for makes you feel sick inside. Almost all of them have done horrible things. Almost none of them deserve what happens to them. But 100% life is cruel, greed corrupts and fate ultimately hits hard for everyone. This show was beautiful.

Walter's half full glass signify how he still has some things left to do

Man, I never realized what a great ending this episode is. He seems such a defeated shell of himself, he really has you fooled... He's given up, that phone call with is son crushed him. Cancer and shame have destroyed that which Krazy-8, Tuco, Gus and all those others couldn't do. But then, he gets that look in his eyes. You've seen it before; the look he gets when he's about to turn an impossible situation around with some idea nobody saw coming. And the theme song starts playing, that beautiful, threatening gangster cowboy motif. And you know; Heisenberg has one more trick up his sleeve.

14:45 This speech rings different after you've watched _Better Call Saul._ Just goes to show how despite his horrible flaws, Saul is different man than Walt. For those who know, *DON'T SPOIL IT FOR S&P.* I'm still hoping they will react to it.

They kinda both went the same route. Called the vacuum guy, left, then when they got bored went on a crime spree. Only difference is one ended up dead, other ended up in jail

What do you mean Jesse wanted out he had a chance to start his life over with a bag of money but blew it.

Todd is a professional criminal. No heart, no ego, no false pride. The only goal is money and he will do whatever it takes to reach that goal. Nothing less, nothing more; Literally the polar opposite of Walter White.

There's many epic moments in this show but the end of this episode is my favorite. Everything went bad, his family hates him, his wife is facing the music alone, he might die one of these days, Jesse is captured, probably dead, his son fucking despises him. It truly is over..... but that last interview with Gretchen and Elliot put that battery in his back, and just like that whiskey Glass, Walter's business is not over. Heisenberg rides for the last time!!!!

Thanks for avoiding all clips, pics, etc from El Camino. And if I may (re: Batter Call Saul), obviously you know who it's about BUT please try to enjoy the show for what it is and NOT for you think you know about him from Breaking Bad :-)

There are a LOT of fans out there who who are just solidly in Walt's corner and will rationalize almost everything he does because "it's all for the family." There's also a sizable chunk of the fandom who absolutely detest Skylar even though her motivations are every bit as complicated yet understandable - she's first and foremost a victim of Walt's "generosity", coping in the only way she can with....everything.

Really it's all about tying up the loose ends to end the series. Gus from last season. Now Mike, Gomez, Hank, and Andrea. With more to come. I suppose they did it so people wouldn't keep calling for another season or have lots of questions.

Angela and Jesse weren't together so she wouldn't have imagined that she was leverage against him. And months later some random stranger knows she knows Jesse +Todd who even apologised as killing her

Definitely check out "El Camino" as it finishes the story about Jesse. Then it's off to "Better Call Saul". I know you are going to love that show.
