Another reason the British battleships fling HE is because their AP shells have shorter fuses than the Japanese or Americans... This means they explode before they can fully penetrate a battleship main armor belt...they do less damage, and you don't get citadels very often... ...unless you aim a bit higher. Fire AP at the upper hull and/or lower superstructure of enemy battleships. Against cruisers, standard waterline aiming will still do the trick...😁

Another good vid Spartan. If using the New Orleans, at 13-14km against BBs, you should probably use armor piercing (especially with the Capt. skill that increases penetration). The plunging fire of those 8in guns will let you get quite a few citadels through their thin top deck plating. At shorter ranges against BBs, sure, use the HE.

Geez the grouping on those shells is tight as heck! How much do you have upgraded in that regard? Or is it just a badass ship? Omaha has been my favorite cruiser, so far, simply because of its accuracy and front/rear 5x guns

On pc, the tier 9 and 10 British battleships have crazy good HE. And the goofballs that go down the middle probably do so because of Flambass from the PC version. That's what is know as Flambass's speshul tactic. He's pulled it off in everything from DDs to CVs. When I watched him drive his carrier down the channel, I was thinking "no way". By the end 😲😲😲😲😲.

Up to the Omaha, the American Cruisers have been light cruisers, after that they become heavy cruisers. That's why all of the sudden you have slow guns and turrets. They are still great gun boats, but require a higher skilled player. I really want to get good with the heavy cruisers, but I'm not there yet.

I'm coming from another Battleship Commander myself I can't believe that you don't like the Pensacola yes she's the floating Citadel of Shame however the guns and the reload time in the maneuverability alone make her one of my favorite ships still working on getting a New Orleans and subsequently the Baltimore lovely Channel my brother

My fav ships were always the T6 Cleveland and the T7 Atlanta...before all the changes to the tier structure. Was never a fan of the Pensacola as it seemed to always be nothing but made of paper, and was easily destroyed.

You play Pensacola good and you can get 100,000+ damage games easily on the HE alone I honestly only use HE on Pensacola unless a cruiser is broadside or 5 feet from me

Do you play the same way with the Indianapolis?? It has the radar than can detect ANY ship in 10km. It is more useful to support destroyers than to use it like a sniper at 15km. What do you think?

On the American heavy cruisers, try using AP on the sides of battleships. You’ll get a lot more damage per salvo if your crew is set up for AP pen

If anyone is looking for help...Im almost done all the challenges for challenge accepted and on level 60 for atlanta campaign.....For any torpedo missions I used Fubuki and had great success and not even fully upgraded....for any Citadel or Hp missions I used Iowa and had easy success...if you dont have Iowa yet then I still recommend American Battleships, Colorado and New Mexico will do just fine.....set fire missions I used pensacola, Iowa, and Fubuki.....I am now just down to collecting the 6 million and doing 1500 hits with main battery and destroying 30 ships.....I am bouncing back and forth from the Iowa ( because of the money made with it) and pensacola for the fast reload...I hope I can help anyone struggling because this is one hell of a grind for Atlanta and Doubloons

Dont just spam HE. You couldve done massive damage to that New York with AP. American cruisers have great AP with increased pen angles. Also you can heal 100% of HE damage but not AP damage, so AP damage is always better than HE. Also the reason why british BBs use HE a lot is because they have great HE pen and a very high firechance. Meanwhile their AP is often garbage because of a short fusetime.

You should try the Japanese cruisers, higher tiers have great torpedos, pretty solid guns, and they don’t feel like your sailing a floating citadel. You probably don’t have a lack of people to play with but if you ever need people to division with let me know, it would be great to get to play with you

Pensacola is also very squishy and has a terrible reload time but yes it improves greatly with the New Orleans and Baltimore. I haven’t unlocked those yet so I can’t truly speak on them but from the ones I’ve faced they do improve but they are missing out on not having torpedoes

Question. All of a sudden I'm asked to pay a service required in credits to get my ship back? Never seen this before. Is this something new? I've been playing my Iowa for about 2 weeks now I have to pay this service fee twice in a row?

You have to pay ship service fee every battle. If you run out of silver then your ship will not be useable until you pay the service fee. Tier 6 and 7 are expensive ships to run with out premium time. A lot of folks struggle to make money with them.

The new orleans and Pens both play very similar. Keep your distance because you will be deleted up close. Even while bow tanking

British Battleships (BB) fire HE because they have the highest chance of setting fire's especially as you get up the tiers

The Vanguard is the ship i have the WORST experience with, if anyone is grinding towards it, stop. It has the smallest guns, less damage, it has the least amount of guns, worst armour, easiest to citadel, not very fast? manoeuvrable, least HP, probably the worst accuracy, the British top tier BB has NOTHING good going for it, i get higher damaging games in most other tiers, so do not get the vanguard people.

Why do players dislike the pensacola? Ive had most of my best matches in it. Its guns are amazing.. accurate and they dish out huge damage. Also im getting most citadels in my pensacola. Cruisers and destroyers go home early, and it does good damage against battleships too. I love it. Specially with the new permanent camo on it. Its a beauty of a ship. Looks way better then the orleans and balti. Also better then the light cruiser line.

New Orleans has incredible AP on PC. Sadly aircraft carriers ruined that version. Hope they dont add them to console. They take the strategy out of the game and farm free damage.
