+Prophet Theory He didn't but that's my opinion. Liam was chosen for his features that looked similar to Andy's, not his skills. I would have preferred someone completely different than Andy (facial features), but with a similar presence on screen - which Liam lacked, horribly.

I just binge watched S1, S3 and S4. Unfortunately, half way through S1, I checked the cast to see if that was Lucy Lawless and read where Andy Whitfield died. I was so bummed that I was not going to watch after S1. I am glad I continued to watch because, I truly enjoyed Andy, I think Liam did a good job, especially considering he had to follow Andy who just made me love Spartacus. R.I.P. Andy W.

Liam impressed me. The transition was jarring at first, but he had a difficult job to do and he pulled it off. And by the end of War of the Damned, he'd made the role his own. His performance during Aurelia's death scene really solidified his performance in my view.

It was hard to transition to Liam but he did a good job, he had huge shoes to fill and in the end her grew on me but Andy will forever be Spartacus. I wasn't into Liams accent as Spartacus tho

The thing was Andy embodied Spartacus in every way. Liam knew this and did his best to carry this huge responsibility past the finish line. And still to this day honours Andy every chance he gets. Liam deserves credit. He was fantastic and I genuinely believe he deserves more credit and respect. Just as much actually as Andy. He also gave his own spin on the character instead of just copying Andy he himself gave his turn on the character and also made it his own in his own way.

@@abohsukampret "Gods" was magnificent. They upped the Latin-style language, tightened the storyline and eased off on the over-the-top violence while focusing more on realistic gore. I'd say it was a huge improvement over the first season. John Hannah and Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah, the Solonius guy, Tullius, the elder Batiatus were all great.
