Philco, once owned by the Ford Motor Company :) It’s interesting when people claim these are difficult to work on, but from what I can see they are fairly easy to work on since it’s smaller tv and the chassis slides out for easy accessibly to certain components.

That's in MARVELOUS condition. It was a 1961 Philco TV that sparked my old radio passion. Quality wise, it was awful--built using that awful Predicta-era wire-wrap technology.

Awesome work, dude! Great video. Great choices for demonstration. That Calvin and Colonel cartoon was pretty cute. It's so "of the time," early 60's. Loved the GTA ride pimpin' too. I laughed so hard!

It's always nice to see your restorations. You take pride in the stuff you fix, even if it takes longer. It's really cool that someone makes those new couplets too. Sometimes I wonder how those even worked at all when so many components are bad. It's like they go bad just sitting in storage or something. I've never seen that cartoon before. Looks pretty funny. Is that a fox and a bear?

50:51 What's the source of that? It's come full circle. I thought respecting the original aspect ratio finally became standard practice on DVD but now TV, streaming and KZbin channels are tilt and scanning. God forbid they do it on DVD/BRD. 😡
