I have nazgul5 with velox2207 2550kv motors... pid roll 74 60 51, pid pitch 77 73 56... On your videos your pd balance is much higher, dterm is almost twice lower than p... Also I can't get any oscillations with high P even at 200, so my pterm is just choosen by no real reason...
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
@@О.Ш-ь1щ it is all in balance. At 200P, you have overshooting. Check out a log, it is easy to see there. D-term stabilizes for outside influences (wash and wind), BUT also magnifies vibration from motor or frame. So, if mechanical vibration is low, you can pile on the D-term to keep quad stable in wash and wind. With that, P-term to keep the nose on point (on the sticks). D-term stabalizes and P-term keeps the nose on point.
@malinhiles3 жыл бұрын
Great looking tune at the end! Curious as to why you decided to keep d_min disabled while still incorporating a good amount of feedforward. Is that a specific choice for this quad, or do you tend to keep d_min disabled with FF under ~200?
@uavtech3 жыл бұрын
I go to D max for the best performance. At that point boosting D sends it over the limit. Also, D_min is delayed in booting so does hot help with prop wash.

I've tuned all my quads using your techniques and they all run smooth and very responsive. Although I use Blackbox to see how the gyro tracks the stick response , I find that the PID curve using PID toolbox gives much better analytical data on how well the gyro and sticks are tracking (tuned) after each PID change....the PID curve never lies....if it is over or under dampened it will show it. Is there anyway you can send me the raw BlackBox data from JBs tune and your tune so I can see what the PID curve looks like for both?

@@uavtech thanks for soon reply 👍 I have already seen that video and from last one week I am watching your tutorial videos many times and i learned a lot but when ever I am go out to field and try to tune my 5 inch quad and try to see the black box and figure out what's the problem, my brain gets freeze by looking at so many waveforms As I the gyro wave form tries to track the setpoint in the beginning of the roll it always overshoot and my p term graph goes up and down as the quad enters into roll p term is not smooth What to look for sir ? I want the very tight feeling quad almost tracking the stick movement but to achieve the locked feel I start getting bounce back and propwash

Should VBat compensation be turned off when tuning or just in general

Off or on should be ok.

Do you tune FL1 too?

Yeah, just not as precise. No blackbox, therefore detecting the optimal PD Balance is more seat of the pants and trial / error, taking more time. P and D Gain push up is just as easy though. Once it does flutter, i would back down 5 to 10 points on P, and the the corresponding D to hold the PD ratio. Do math as no sliders to assist.
