The OG PS5 was definitely a bit over-engineered but as a user I prefer that to be the case as opposed to them undershooting what's necessary and ending up like the PS3 and PS4. I'm also hearing that people suspect the PS5 Pro has a 4nm chip. Considering that the power supply is only 15% more powerful with the system being almost 50% more powerful it seems very obvious that they MUST have done another die shrink in order to make this happen. Also, the chips that AMD has build using RDNA 3.5 thus far have also been on 4nm so it does make sense in that regard. At this point, I'm just waiting to see someone clearly identify all the chips as well as scan the APU. I'm guessing it's odd shape is due to the fact that it also has a separate AI chip slapped on the die.

Going to be interesting to see how that 2GB of DRR5 is connected to the APU. The PS4 Pro had additional memory, but it wasn't attached to the main chip, it was accessed through the auxiliary ARM processor.

2GB of DDR5 is for the 2TB SSD as a DRAM cache probably. Lines up with 2TB NVME SSD's as they have 2GB of DRAM cache sometimes as well.

Although I won't be buying a pro (I play on pc primarily) im excited to see the pro in action. PlayStation is bringing more tech from pc gaming to consoles so yall have something to look forward too. The PS5 Pro is going to sell very well, because it is easy to understand the benefits. It lets you play the highest visual mode with the performance mode at the same time. You don’t have to choose one or the other, like in the regular PS5. 1:59 I'm glad it's really easy to get to here. My PS3 super slim has, unfortunately, caught the Cbomb. If I were to lose internet or purposely turn off my internet, I'd still be able to run my digital games. But if I unplug it from the wall, then this will cause the time to be lost, and my digitally purchased games won't work unless I re-authenticate on the internet. I'd like to find some sort of device that I'd be able to plug into the back of the PS3 that would supply it with _just enough_ power for the CMOS, but would prevent it from powering on unless it were plugged into a wall.

They should have done that for ps5. Gave devs full access to full 16 GB GDDR6, and should put 4 GB DDR5 on motherboard. 2 GB for the pro imo is kinda low. Maybe it’s only used os and when your downloads patchs and stuff. 4 GB would been better. Give devs more room for any future features added to the os. 8 GB ddr5 would been more then enough. Oh well, good too see Sony added some system ddr5 ram. Maybe ps6 will have more system ram and game devs will have full access to GDDR6 or GDDR7 Vram. Which ever they go with.
