Think it's supposed to look like those "Supreme" logos that everyone and their mother has these days...big in the tuner world not sure if it's caught on in the muscle car scene too but maybe they're trying to break it in there too? Who knows lol obviously different color than the Supreme red but you get my point.

I like this series because it shows that you can buy a high milage car as long as it's mechanically sound. and its still worth it to do some sick mods to it. you don't always have to start with a perfect low milage car.

I feel like everyone is concerned with more power but ignore the balance aspect of actual racing. The car is heavy, the engine runs good for it's age and to be honest most great racing cars dont have 400 plus horspower to make them the best on track. If I could I would gut my car and replace parts that I removed with fiberglass panels that can be removed more easily for actual tracking and lighten up all my major body panels. Replace my suspension with all lighter than stock parts and replace my seats with carbon fiber or fiberglass...and dial in my road racing skills...ooh and biger brakes! I love watching this chanel because this is fun seeing what could be if I could, seeing what can be with the car I can say I actually own, freakn sweet! Heck, didn't someone mention that with the previous mods, the Mustang felt almost like a 911 on track?! Can't wait to see what's next, you guys give me hope!

We'd love to get some CNC'd heads for this engine, it would really make some sweet jam, but these are pretty pricy pieces so not sure we'll man up and do it. A DIY port job is tempting if we ever find ourselves pulling the heads off.

If your loosing that much bottom end on cams alone now, with ported heads, itll be far worse down low. It'll be doughie as shit. The reason is, is that there is more area to fill in the head, with the same amount of vaccum, which actually causes the air speed to slow. Once in the range, itll be great, but if it's still a streeter, just leave it as is and port match the heads.

I love the videos, I plan to get a 3-valve soon and with cams (especially stage 2 specs and up) and springs, they are safe to go 7000 rpm. the hot rod cams for example are good up to 6800 rpm, but you need springs to rev farther than that. Great works guys, thanks for your videos! 👍

The numbers are great for what you are working with. Up to this point a large amount of money invested into achieving the power numbers seen out of a 400 dollar scrap yard LR4 4.8 with a sloppy cam swap. I think i would've LS swapped it and used the 15 grand in savings to pay for a second vehicle. But yall are doing an excellent job.

A Coyote swap would be real nice, but also expensive as f**k. This is pretty much what I would do, except I'd maybe do is do the heads. A bit of porting, bigger valves. But that's pretty much it. And if I wanted even more power maybe throw a ProCharger on it.

Back on time 2009 Adding cj intake manifold, BBK TB 62mm, frp spark plugs zero degree, accel super coils, steeda udp, steeda spacer, 3.73 gear ratio, intrax lowering springs over oem anti shock and it goes up to 402 rwhp/389 rwtq (442 hp @ engine) re-tuned again by me with 91 Oct tune file and using 95 Oct on pump gas and it was absolutely amazing performance it's making spinning between shifting until 4th gear and it's automatic tires are Brielle p zero 235/55/17 front / 245/55/17 rear even in dig it will also spin a lot.. Since 2016 til now I am working slowly and carefully on custom twin turbo setup with fully built strokerd cammed engine, fully built gearbox, one piece drive shaft carbon, fuel sys, new full exhaust sys configuration with corsa touring cat-back and Recaro seats.. And see how much power i can get with daily use..

Coils on mod motors are maintenance items. You should just change them All around 85 to 100k miles. Because they are on borrowed time by then. They are just sm. cooked unlike the coil used with distributor which is large and out in the air and last till it dies which is usually beyond 150 k mile.

unfortunately NGK doesn't make a plug that fits these oddball '05 to '09 4.6L Ford V8's. There's very few companies that make plugs for it, the Champion platinums are literally the highest quality plug we could find for it. In '10 Ford switched to a more common spark plug, so one more reason for a Coyote swap.

@yunclehead 7 жыл бұрын
Roger, you have the wrong sampling size. Its not a few bad plugs out of how many thousands because the guys didn't test thousands of plugs, its 3 bad plugs out of 8. That's a failure rate of 37.5% which is fully ridiculous. One bad plug out of 8 is considered totally unacceptable because of the engine's degree of performance degradation.

Question. If a car loses power under 3,500 rpm and gains power afterwards. Why can’t you just set the tuning back to what it was last run as far as under 3,500 rpm and then keep the current tuning for after 3,500? In theory it makes sense. Someone intelligent please explain why it does not work like that.

Might have slammed fuel in to the spark plugs when it flooded. Lucky it didn't bend valves if that's the case.

Why don't you turbochage your car? It'll make more horsepower and it'll be more fun to drive. And make sure to upgrade the tranny and the clutch to response to the power gains w/ no issues

Of _course_ you can just drop those cams in and take it for a drive. No one promised the engine would be running well...just running. (For a given value of "running.") :-P

Autolite spark plugs are garbage! Ive never seen the porcelain be loose but doesnt surprise me at all. Ive had multuple issues with them causing cars to run like shit or have misfires. I strongly reccomend motorcraft plugs, especially when dealing with that goofy style.

Why are even power ratings measured/showed only at peaks? Thats actually really misleading. Imho, the area, under the curve, would describe the power a lot better. I mean, lets say - 2 engines - both rev to 5k. 300 torque from 2000 - 4000 RPMs is going to be a lot more, than 400 torque at 4500, but "turbo lag" torque levels up untill then.
@speedacademy
@speedacademy 7 жыл бұрын
That's the biggest issue when comparing dyno results no one ever covers area under the curve just peak!
