If you don’t want the oil cap to leak don’t turn them upside down after removing. They really don’t leak just the oil on the cap will drain past the seal when it upside down when servicing. That took us a minute at the dealer to figure it out. Oily side down when it’s removed.

22:00 Here, the BMW S65 has *plenty* of torque under 5000rpm, yet over on Bimmerpost there seem to be lots of people arguing until they are blue in the face that the S65 is "gutless under 5k rpm" and that the S55 (or even N55) turbo engines are superior. Go figure! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel a bit jealous about the fact that it only took you like 10mins to take out the front shocks while It took me 5 hours just to do the driver side on my e90 325d. I started at 2pm and was done at 5:30am the next morning. I replaced front shocks, brake discs and pads and the water pump since it was leaking. Love how the car looks but my eyes always wander to that e34 m5, what a beauty!

I'm kind of bothered that it seems the world is waking up to the fact that the E9X BMW M3 is the best one for a reasonable price (Although still way to high IMHO LOL) sports car for the best of all worlds type of car out there. Although the newer ones have much more power the E90 (or E92 E93) M3 is by far the car to have if you're looking for a super sounding perfect drifting race machine you can drive to work each day and is very reliable! Great choice!!

That’s pretty cool and not overly surprising. I’ll be curious to see what the “budget” was for these. Also resale ? I know the M3 basically you could flip for what you paid. But what about a Type R clone. What is the market for something like that ? Would you be upside down ?

I see guys show up at auto x events with those tires and they're always so confused cause they expect it to be fast. Shortly after they come back with falkens rt660, re71rs, or yok a052
@ZackNakazora1
@ZackNakazora1 Жыл бұрын
Track demands Will melt most your super 200 autox super stars. The re71r of yesteryear was used as a wet weather track tire. Because after a few hot laps they fall off. You want something with a higher heat range and typically they have lower raw grip for a track tire. Until you get to the 80 tw tires..
@TassieLorenzo
@TassieLorenzo Жыл бұрын
Conti ECS 02 (and Pilot Sport 4S) are both very "Euro" tyres with soft sidewalls. I love the old Potenza S007A as it has the same stiff sidewalls with good feedback as a RE71RS but in a road tyre for everyday (and wet weather) use. While it's still made in Japan, it has also been replaced with the Europeanised Potenza Sport tyre in the North American market unfortunately which also has softer sidewalls (though probably not quite as soft as ECS or PS4S). [Don't drive the Potenza Sport on track as they will melt! The S007A is not that much better either, lol, but I just love having the tautness and road feedback in a fully grooved road tyre that is fine for (warm) wet conditions. I can't stand floatiness in a tyre! With the way stiff sidewall UHP road tyres are disappearing from the market due to rolling resistance concerns, I might have to run track day tyres all the time, which I'd rather not due to the possibility of having to drive in the odd heavy downpour of rain. (I'm from Australia where we run summer tyres year round but sometimes still get heavy rain in winter.)]
@ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
@ClaytonYatescarenthusiast Жыл бұрын
@ZackNakazora1 the new re71rs is not the re71r. The Falken rt660 handles heat better than a conti. The yok a052 is great for a single lap or auto x. The conti falls off a cliff after 1 or 2 hard laps. Even it it holds heat better than say a yok a052 it's best grip is worse than an overheated a052. I race a 2019 c7z06 on falken rt660 and gy3r depending on class. Fastest non slick c7 around cota. The gy3r is a full blown race tire that runs slightly off pace of a slick. For reference a rt660 is about 2 to 3 seconds off a gy3r. That conti sport2 or whatever would be about 6 seconds off. They aren't in the same league at all. There is always a trade off but its getting better. The new v2 nankang crs needs a little heat but hangs on at yok grip levels longer than anything else in the ball park. I've tested everything that fits and is with rules on my c7z. Tuned suspension for each tire. The Falken is decent but only run it cause they where full sponsor and free tire saves 20k a year. The new nankang is default tip tire everywhere a 200 tw is required unless the car is hard to get a little heat in or weather is too cold. Better off with yok in that situation. I'm switching to nankangs for 200 tw and staying gy3r of global time attack. If you're talking about just for fun track days then Falken, kumho v730, or Hankook is best option. Like the v730 a lot actually. Most underrated tire out there and last a while. The conti 200 tw track tires kinda suck. They were supposed to release a softer compound of that same tire but haven't yet. They last forever though. All this is for time attack. The only people typically doing more than a warm up, hot lap, and a flyer or sometimes 2 are people at track days not racing and wheel to wheel is a different ball game altogether. By saying what you said I know you have some understanding but likely not first hand. I don't even know of a 80 tw tire. Trofeo r is 60, hoosier a7 and r7 are 40, nitto is what 100 tw, gy3r is 100, cup2 is between 240 and 140. Don't know of a fast 80 tw myself.

I'm surprised the E90 only put down 350WHP with intake, headers and exhaust with a N/A tune. 420CHP, with mods should be 440chp? I know autos suck a lot of power but 90hp? I'm calculating a manual E90 putting down 357whp at the .15 factor for RWD cars. so auto you loose another 30-40hp from the manual? The 911 was cool but I think a different higher revving engine would have been better? maybe a Lexus LC500 V8? 471 HP with a great sound and reliable? or a VR6 Turbo?

Removing the rear spacer and using adjustable rear upper arms to run less negative camber would have the same optical effect while also improving your rear grip. Stock suspension on the M3 tends to have a lot of "active" camber, meaning when you dive into corners in dramatically changes from the "static" camber it has. I run -0.3 at the rear and the car is better both at grip & drift.
