I found your "Don't say YES" and " Don't say NO" videos very helpful in the first place!!! But only after taking a second look , I realized just how precious they really are. Having learned business idioms and phrases galore by heart, I now had to recognise that I fail with simple things as YES or NO 😭 (555) when it comes to understand a native English speaker. Please, keep up the excellent work!!! Your "Speak like a native videos" are really second to none!!! Take care!!!

You’re a great teacher. Would be nice to educate the native speakers that when they meet a learner, especially someone new to the language not to take it personal. At first we don’t know we’re being rude. We’ll all improve. Thanks for your lessons!

Most Thai people speak and listen to a little English (but can read well) as well as me. One of the best ways is to say No. You should say No and follow the word Thank you. I’m confident that more than 90% can understand. Thank you from Thailand. :)

Hi, Mark!!! I learned so much from this most useful lesson!!! Thanks a million!!! Telling you the truth: I would've made the same mistake that the barber did!!! 😱😱 555 I mean, it's strange, you know? "Mark really has expended my horizon!" That thought occurred to me first thing this morning. Two years ago, if anyone had told me I'd EVER follow a KZbinr, I would have laughed at him. I would've said: "What do you take me for? After all, I'm not a teenager anymore!" Finding METV by chance, immediately changed my opinion, though. Oddly enough, I really became addicted to your lessons. (555) Obviously, opinions can extremely change, when being triggered by the right person at the right place!!! A big hug from Germany!!! Take care!!!

David, hello. I watched dozens of videos on youtube to learn English. But everyone was talking very fast. Teachers were speaking fast because they were native speakers. But the person who wants to learn the language does not understand the teachers who speak fast. I met you for the first time this day. You speak slower than other teachers, I can understand the words you speak one by one. If you make your conversations even slower, you will be a favorite of the students who want to learn a language. I wish you healthy days.

Hi Mark. I really love your videos because They can use for the daily conversations. Everytime you talked new word, you always paused 1 second to explain that definition. I learned very much from you. I will tell you a short funny story is that my uncle did something wrong with his boss machine. She blamed him, instead of saying Sorry, He said that ” No worry” and his boss answere ” What?.....??” because my uncle translate ” No worry ” into Vietnamese meaning ” This machine was still Ok”. 😂

Some people does not know the other way of saying no especially the ones that doesn't interact daily with English speaking people. Lmao! He put jell on your hair after declining it? We English speaking people have to remember when we travel to countries that do not speak English to say. .No thank you if we don't agree on something. Maybe this is easier for them to understand.

Hi Mark, My favorite way to say "no" is - no. It is just true. It does not seem me rude. I unerstand that it is just culture difference, but it is just word! I think that I am not rude person. No - it is just short and right way to say no. For Russian and Hebrey speakers it is not rude and really common. BUT Thank you a lot for this lesson. I did not know this....

Very interesting video! And the story at the beginnig is so funny hhh (btw I always like the way you start your lessons😊 So creative!) And for the fact that "I'm alright/I'm okay" mean "No", I think it's logical because they mean "I am good and satisfied this way, I don't necessarily need that offer" (well, that's what I understood 😅) In my language we can even use "no problem, thanks" to say "no" 😂 But we say it in a specific tone and with some gestures.. Thank u so much Teacher for the lesson and thank u also for using my country in an example!!!😍 It was veeeryyy kiiiind of you to accept my suggestion!🤗 You just made my night!!😆 And if you really think of visiting Morocco someday.. I encourage you!😄 Because it has many tourist attractions, and the cost of living here is veery low comparing to Canda😊 You are most welcome!!
