Hi! Annemarie this is Victor from Mexico I found you a week ago. Now I know the difference between present perfect and present perfect continuous. I've considered to do summary because I've been studying since the morning. I'm going to consider; stative verbs, the contable and incontables things, the specific long of time, etc. At first instance was wrong with the questions and re-watch two times and finally I didn't have mistakes with the questions. Have a beautiful day. See you soon.

That said, the first part of this long adventure is coming to an end which means I am nearly ripe for the big challenge".

Thank you for the explanation and example sentences. I have a question. If learners used wrong tenses, how would you or native speakers feel or think? How is it important to use them correctly?
@Speakconfidentenglish2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question, Masayo. It is not uncommon to hear mistakes with the perfect forms and most of the time we still understand what someone is trying to say. However, the perfect forms are used often and, therefore, they are useful to know.

Thanks for sharing your examples, Lyudmila. I have some suggestions: 1. The best word to use with a friend to indicate the length of your friendship is "know" or "to be friends." Because both 'know' and 'be' are stative verbs, we would only use the Perfect Simple form. 2. "I've hated liars." It sounds like this is a statement that is generally true or a fact. For this, the Simple Present Tense is correct. 3. "The new cinema has been opening this Monday." With 'this Monday' it sounds like the focus is the future, not the past. Also, a cinema can only open one time, it isn't something that is repeated. The accurate way to say this would be, "The new cinema has been open since Monday."
