Hello, could you tell me please a difference between helpful and useful ?
@Speakconfidentenglish
@Speakconfidentenglish 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. There is very little difference between the two. They are synonyms of each other. Helpful means that something has been of service or assistance. Useful means that something is valuable and/or capable of being put to use

So it's 1. When you don't know the actor 2. When the actor is so obvious, he doesn't need mentioning 3. When you want to draw attention to the recipient 4. When you want to draw attention to the result 5. When you want to shield someone (or yourself) from responsibility

in the end civil authorities on the one hand and religious ones on the other could reach an agreement in order to share the cost of the church renovation. the idea was to restore the facade leaving the inside as it was originally; to everybody´s content. so far, so good. private funding contributed to the restoration as well.

about a controversial renovation : years ago quite a lot of money was spent to renovate a magnificent old church located on the main street of my city.People were for and against the project. it made waves, certainly. The project was finally given the ok.

Hi Teacher! What is the difference between passive voice of these sentences “ Your order is delivered” and Your order has been delivered? Pls Clarify.
@Speakconfidentenglish
@Speakconfidentenglish Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. The correct form would be "Your order was delivered" or "Your order has been delivered." Both indicate that a package has successfully arrived at its destination at some point in the post. Who delivered it is not important.

For changing an active sentence to passive voice, it is crucial to identify if the sentence have an object. The object takes the subject position in passive sentences. If a sentence doesn't have an object, that sentence can't be changed. Verbs followed by objects are called transitive. On the other hand, verbs which are followed by prepositional phrases are intransitive and don't have any object.
