High : Normal 8.5 Bright 2, Bass Mid Treb Pres at noon
Guitar: 1982 Greco Mint collection with Dry Z
Effect: Strymon Flint Reverb (running infront... not fx loop)
Recorded with :Zoom H6. No post EQ

Been looking for an A/B of these speakers in this combo, thanks!! The Gold's got a bit more body and depth to the tone, which is what I kind of expected with an alnico.

Hi Bob. I think it's the next best thing you can get, if you can't buy a "Golden Age Era Guitar".. I will take any Greco from 1980-1982 EGF 1200 over any Custom shop model Les Paul... I'm very glad to own this guitar (1982 first year Mint Collection series EG59-100 with the Famous DRY Z pickups.)

I got the exact same year, model, same finish - I bought it 6 years ago with Wizz pickups and Faber hardware all around, still amazed by it every day. It’s the closest most of us will ever get to a 50s Les Paul

Quite a difference in the speaker response. You are getting a great "buttery" tone with the V-type. The Gold sounds a bit 'crunchier'. Both sound great but with that Greco LP, I think I prefer the V- Type. Some nice playing and vibrato in there also!
