After evaluating the condition of the speaker, I decided to move forward with the re-cone. Go figure, a new problem surfaces, but one that can be overcome with time and effort. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel.

Hello Don, I hope all is good with you and yours. Meticulous attention to detail, 1st class job on the speaker restoration. You really go all out and it shows in the results. I need to review how to determine the turns ratio, impedance matching, etc.. Uncle Doug on YT, perhaps your familiar with his vintage amp videos, has a video that discusses how to derive at the ratio and other related information. Worth a view, Uncle Doug knows his stuff and makes some great video tutorials. Glad to see your still uploading new videos on occasion. Thankyou for all the excellent video tutorials and teaching. Be good, C.

+Cass Virgillo Thank you, I appreciate it. In regards to the turns ratio and impedance ratio, I published a video on it at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYm2aq2dhbaIpqc if interested. Uncle Dog's channel is top notch and he provides information in a simple and easy way to follow. I've been a subscriber for some time now and always reference his work. Cass, thanks again for following my projects. Best, Don

Very nice restoration of the 5 inch speaker Don. Looks really good. BTW I finally got an antique style radio but it is not that old. A Tesslor R601 that was sent to me by one of my viewers. . Not a bad radio but still looking a real antique Keep up the great videos Don.

+The Radio Shop Thank you. That Tesslor sounds interesting. Have you started on it or published any videos? I appreciate you following along. Best, Don

I shown it in a mail time video #93. It was like new when the guy sent it to me so just plug and play. Really nice sound out of it. Amazing that something modern made can sound so good. I watch all your videos because I like the way you present them. Dont always get a chance to comment but watch them all. Thanks for taking the time to do these. Buddy

Great video Don, looks like Im going to have to go into the Silver Bell speaker. I tried patching but there were just too many for my liking. Hopefully a reconing will be all I will have to do, but thats what you started out doing there. You never know what is waiting you. I will reference this video many times. Thanks for sharing this. I will have some questions. Not sure how to contact u directly, but the first question that come to mind, is where did you get the cone, also, where did you come up with the voice coil form? Thanks again, as usual very detailed and informative video. Larry

+Larry H. Lyda Larry, I hope re-coning will be successful if a repair is not possible. Every old speaker I've touched and tried to re-cone the former fell apart in my hands. Check out this video on making a former out of paper: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boHafndrhNx2etU The last former I used adding machine paper from a roll. You only have a few mils to work with including the magnet wire; very tedious, but extremely rewarding once completed. I will send you a private message with my contact info and respond to your video on the source for the speaker cones. Best, Don
