The way Spear went out was basically the equal and opposite of the Night Feeder’s defeat. The Night Feeder was so used to being this seemingly invincible threat which terrorized others for pleasure. But by the time it came across a fire-wielding Spear, whom it could neither escape nor survive a fight against, the Night Feeder caved into cowardice and went out with a helpless whimper. In contrast, Spear was used to fighting for his life every day and has loved ones to serve. So when Spear is faced with a fiery adversary, whom he could neither escape from nor survive a fight against, he charges it head-on and goes out in a final badass act of defiance. Depending on whether the demon pulled the chieftain back to the underworld, due to Spear’s mortal injury fulfilling the bargain or the chieftain becoming too damaged to continue, one could argue that Spear even took his adversary with him, which the Night Feeder failed to do.

be fair i think spear wasn't as normal as he once was. the potion might have had a permenant effect on him and that is part of why he was so strong, stronger than he origianlly was. think some of it manifested here. his eyes resembled the eyes of his hulk form.

Wow what a perfect show. I wouldn't change anything. Everything is brilliantly done, including the ending. The dynamics of the story itself, the development of all characters, wonderful animation. We've got everything from magic, to awesome battles, and action itself. Spear has completed his journey and mission, and we are moving on. Bringing him back would be a disaster for Primal. If there is a third season, I would like to see a fresh, and new development of Spear's daughter, and Feng's cubs. For the show to focus on them, and their adventures, battles, and development.

I would change stuff. The overall story is fine, but Fire Demon definitely needed more of a fight. Show builds up Chieftain as a good character with great fights. Does the same for Queen. Both have multiple episodes of development building them, and we get awesome fights with them. Fire Demon is carried hard by prior Chieftain moments, but the Demon itself barely does anything. It shows up. Fights for maybe 6 minutes before it and Spear die. I'm cool with the idea of them dying fighting, but it just has very little fight and character interactions compared to the Chieftain and Queen.

@@screenname6829 the way this series goes we saw a crazy amount of supernatural phenomenons from a witch coven to a group of intelligent ape man with a shaman capable of roiding out apes…. To a crazy mad disease, kind of infection that luckily was prevented from turning into a full-blown outbreak and some demon king thing. I’m pretty sure either resurrection might be possible or maybe some cameos spear may not be of the Viking culture but he did go out like a warrior, so either he might get a second chance, but at least he’ll be reunited with his family while his second one is free to roam the Earth with his new lover.
