What an amazing vid, we’ve been missing you mate! I went for a dive 2 days ago with my mate and had a great time in a big school of bonito and salmon, but then got home to be greeted with a positive covid test 😢 so that’s my Christmas cancelled. I’ve been feeling kinda bummed about that and this video has really lifted my mood so thanks so much for that. I’ve never been FAD spearing before, but I’m very keen to go, and after watching this, even more so. I hope you know that you do wonders in the aussie spearing community, some other spearo asked me the other day where I got my speargun strap and when I said I got it from your shop he was like “oh yeah, I love that guy”. Wherever you are it looks gorgeous and I hope you have an amazing Christmas!!

Ahhh buggar man sorry to hear that! But im glad this video dropped just in time to perk you up. Dont worry youll be right before you know it. Mon and I were both sick the whole time for our QLD trip so we packed it in. Sometimes it comes at exactly the wrong time. You definitely need to get out to the FADs! Yeah honestly, a steak of Mahi grilled with oil or butter on the BBQ and then finished with salt and pepper. My favourite way to eat it. Closest comparison of chicken and fish when it's done like that in my opinion 😁 see ya soon mate!

4:50 i wouldn't worry about not seeing anything on the sounder on fads. As long as the water is blue and warm they will be there, sometimes km from the fad but in the area

Its on the mid north coast, and yeah definitely doable on a single tank if its big enough, you could probably navigate there on your phone if you preloaded everything before hand but you would want to take a spare the fads can actually slightly move location too so you might need to search the general area to find them.

Thank you! A FAD is a Fish Aggregating Device such as a large buoy or platform that sits high in the water column or on the waters surface which attracts small fish and then pelagic fish such as mahi mahi and wahoo to name a couple.
