Have not played Sigmar since the crossover and there were no points. Play 40k now mainly. Super excited for this mode as I always wanted to come back, but did not want two large army systems.

Nice that AoS finally gets their own combat patrol/boarding action type thing. I play STD but love OBS too so this will be perfect to just get a few minis, play it there, and build from there :)

I‘m new to AoS since the beginning of the year and have only plaayed one game so far, but I‘m really excited about spearhead. This might actually be a version my wife can get into playing, since she doesn‘t like hours long games. And apparently all creators who got a preview box agree that this is the best game GW‘s done in years, if not ever. Super excited. My Yndrasta Spearhead is ready to go and I‘m going to pick up a Gloomspite Gitz one for my holiday-project :)

I do mention it later in the review, but that symbol means that after the first time the unit is destroyed you can bring it back again in your turn inside your territory and outside of 6 of the enemy - essentially let's you recycle the unit once!

They are quite durable, the Saurus Warriors have a 3+ save while on an o jective, and you can give them a 6+ ward while in your territory too, meanwhile the Carnosaur is a big high damage threat in Spearhead

I really wish GW would stop with the two faction launch boxes. They’re too expensive for a couple of kids getting into the game and even for adults, unless you’re interested in both armies you now have the problem of selling or trading off half the box. Much better, I think, if they had two versions, with one faction each. I’d probably buy the Skaven side, but I don’t want any more Stormcasts, thanks.

These boxes aren't for new players really, they're for players that have been around for a while. The starters are what's for new players that will come out shortly after. The value in these boxes are always worth getting because if it's like the Leviathan box was, you got $800 of models for $250 without discounts. It's worth getting even if you aren't interesting all all of the items in the box and it won't be hard to get rid of the stuff you don't want in your local area I wouldn't think.

look at warhammer fantasy, there we had two boxes with just one force. but they were not cheap... its GW! ok you need first the money for the big box. but if you just want spearhead you can sell parts of both armys and core book incl handbook cards. the other way, if you want one force, you can sell the other half. guess in both cases you get a fair amount of paper and plastic for the money you spend.
