hey luke, love your vids and been a fan for a while. ive been spearing for about 8 years now, just some advise. take your time with your shots and dive down to the fishes level. shooting from the top is a lot harder as u have a much smaller target. shooting from the top can lead to you missing more often or hitting the fish and the spear not going through and not allowing the flopper to exit the fish ( Securing your catch ). Try sitting on the bottom and waiting for fish to come around. the less you move the more comfortable the fish are around you. hope this helps and keep up the good work. cheers

hey luke, love your videos. on the way of your spearfishing, try and get to the level of the fish in the water column, it makes aiming so much easier than when your bobbing up and down on the surface, and it increases your chances of getting a good holding shot too as the spear wont be smacking into the sand. keep up the good work and i hope you get that big trout on spear soon!

Love your videos!! For the FG knot search on YT briggsy fg knot I used to finish the knot with a couple half hitches but always had problems. Also use mono not fluro for leader 👍👌

Hey Luke Man U did a great job in this video very entertaining, just a quick tip man when you are spear fishing try stay level with the ground don’t shoot fish when your floating on the top of the water cause the spear seems to pull out pretty often when your lower to the ground u have a better chance of shooting the fish where u are aiming, let me know how it works out for ya cheers mate keep yo the good work 🍻

Always a great day when you upload mate, was fuming that my mate watched the vid before me and spoiled it 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤.Your perseverance and perspicacity is unmatched, I know a lot of blokes who would get easily dishearted, you haven't had the easiest journey but it''l pay off. Make sure you don't pull out and you will get that cray and barra man, just keep it at it. I use a double albright btw and it hasn't failed me once, FG's can be very picky if you miss the half hitches, which is what could be happening, I lost a kingy to an FG that wasn't half hitched right. Tell you what mate, even though it was another donut, the scenario was absolutely marvellous mate, very privileged to be able to get out there and amongst the action. I'll tell you what it sure as bloody beats a day in the office mate thats for sure. Head up mate, can't wait for the next banger mate, keep em coming.

personally i do 30 twist things then 3 half hitches and sinch the knot after every one and then i cut the leader and do another 3 half hitches and sinch the knot after every one and i like to leave a tag around 3 cm long

It's all about practice mate the FG KNOT is the best going around super strong. I do a resuto finish with the braid burn my mono tag end, and granny knot tight at the end of the braid tag.

if you have to burn the end of your FG kot that means you dont trust the knot that much and if you burn the main line then theres more chance of it braking

i watch all of your videos mate the biggest thing i say you want to improve on when spearing is to get closer and lower to your target. taking shots at trout and other fish from the surface is one way to ruin your shaft and to loose fish. if you can wait for them to turn sideways into you thats the perfect holding shot!

Try an Alberto knot. I haven't had one come undone myself. Seems like that FG knot really fucks up your stride. Try switching to different knots.

Bad luck mate. So close. A lot of guys don't muck around with spears when going for crays. They just grab the 2 main feelers and yank the cray out of the hole. Also, I think your spear gun shaft might be a bit dull (from hitting all the rocks and coral etc.). Here's a short on how to sharpen. And I have seen several of your shot bounce off the fish and the fish is uninjured. That shouldn't happen.
