Spec Corvette at Streets of Willow Springs with LS6 break-in and new Garmin Catalyst

I went to Streets of Willow Springs to test my new crate engine LS6 for my Spec Corvette. The purpose of the day was to break-in the engine with regular oil for a couple of 20 minute sessions and then switch to the regular Mobil 0-50 race oil. Everything for the engine turned out great. As planned, the fresh engine is putting out about 25 more RWHP.
This day I also had the new Garmin Catalyst. I must say I am very impressed with the package. After I finished my third session, I thought to myself, "If I clean up my driving I can take off another second." I then looked at the Garmin and it said I could post a 1:20.64. My best lap the last session was 1:21.98. I thought that "...is pretty cool." It even gives my the fine points for suggestions on braking, driving line, etc. This is the video as assembled by Garmin of what my 1:20 lap looks like. All really good, but perhaps I did something wrong as their is no sound. I will investigate that next time.

The track looks really good and smooth from the days I ran there.

They recently resurfaced the track, but it still has some bumps in some areas.

This is a limitation of the video export! When you tell the Garmin unit to stitch together the optimal lap it leaves the sound out. I have my theories as to why they do this but not 100% sure. I’ll give feedback to Garmin!

As it turns out, the composite of all the best segments as assembled by the Garmin software, it does not have any sound.
