Since all videos on KZbin and Spec-D’s videos are completely useless about wiring I hope this helps! For anybody still wondering I finally figured it out after a shit ton of trial and error. The two main wires coming off the back of the low beam bulb (mine are black and blue) I connected all 3 white wires together and all 3 black wires together on the headlight. Then I took wire strippers and cut a little half inch section off of the 2 main wires coming off the back of the low beam bulb. Then connected the 3 black wires that control the halos and all of that fun stuff and connected it to the main black wire on the back of the low beam bulb. Then took all 3 white wires and connected it to the main blue wire coming off of the low beam bulb. Now everything is working. It might not be the “professional” way, but I taped it really good and it’s still working! LED’s, Halos, and the long strip along the top of the headlight

Thanks for a fine video showing me how to remove and replace headlights on a Toyota Tundra. The blue speed-splice devices shown at 4:33 didn't work for me, after trying twice. The black and white wires are all different gauges, and needed to be stripped and spliced "inline" for the easiest wiring installation. In 2023, one of each black and white wires is long enough to splice into the running light wire without adding a jumper section of wire. I broke some of the headlight filler panel removing them from my '07 Tundra, since the plastic spike and grommet fitting was brittle from age. It went back together with a bit of silicone and new plastic rivets. Lights look great, very bright, adds a nice refresh to my 16 year old truck.

i just got these for my NB miata and i installed them myself using this video and i am not very good with car stuff tbh. the hi and lo beams its just u unplug them and plug in the new ones. the orange parking light uses the same bulb so u dont have to do anything for that one but that is also where u connect the halos and leds. i did not test the voltage i just guessed red and it worked. so both the white wires u twist together and then hook them up to the red (or green maybe in some cars) using the blue plastic “quick connectors” they give. u do NOT have to cut the wire the quick connector will do that for u so u just have to crimp it and save these cause mine came with a ton extra and they are super useful for other lighting projects. the. u do the same thing twist the two black wires together then quick connect them to the black wire from the parking light. and that is it. turn it on and see if it works. if it doesn’t then try switching the direction of the plugs for the hi and lo or try the other (green or red) wire if the halos and leds dont work

@marc_svsengineering43194 жыл бұрын
Wow, you made this more complicated than it should be. New aftermarket headlights all simply plug in to your existing harness with now issues. They are some reports due to manufacture years where the wiring (polarity) was reversed but easily fixed. Now for halo or led effects that is simply just cosmetic is a different story. All manufacturers have them separate from the existing OEM plug for a reason. This gives the consumer the option to wire them directly to a 12 volt source (your existing headlight wiring) or a remote turn on source. Direct means they come on with your headlights and remote means they come on when you start your vehicle. Reason for separation is that some people would like the halos/Led effects on even when the lights are not on (driving lights). Finding a remote wire in your engine bay is rare so you may need to run a wire to your fuse block that only has power when the vehicle is running. Hope that explains why manufacturers don’t have the wiring already tied into the OEM plug

@chrissahagun48033 жыл бұрын
Basically what he’s saying is, if your headlights have daytime running lights, those are the perfect remote wires. But many cars don’t have these. So a separate relay harness is needed to make them function properly when the vehicle is started or you’ll have to turn on all the lights just to get the halo effect

I picked up some spec-d headlights for my 2007 chevy silverado. Installation was easy, though the instructions didn't really help much. My headlights came with 3 sets of positive and negative wires, whereas the instructions and videos only show 2 sets. That being said, I'll explain to you guys how I installed mine. First, I traced the positive and negative wires (white and black) to see what they were going to power up. I took the wires for the LED halo's and lights at the top of the headlight assembly and paired the white with the white and black with the black. I also spliced the 3rd black wire with the other 2 black wires to share a common ground. The remaining white wire was just powering a clear halogen bulb, which I swapped out for an amber colored bulb; this one ran on the top of the headlight assembly and sort of looked like a light bar. As for the low and hi-beams, those were just plug and play from the OEM harness. Mine did however come backwards, they had the low-beam and hi-beam harnesses swapped - it was easy enough to swap those harnesses around. For the Chevrolet Silverado, the OEM color codes are as follows: Brown: park lights, Black: ground, Blue: turn signals. These are the only ones you need to concern yourselves with IF you're going to follow the same setup I did. So, I used blue heat shrinkable butt connectors and spliced everything on the light harness side (not on the chassis harness as they did in this video). In case you don't know what I'm talking about, take the wire you want to tap into, cut it, expose the copper wire and twist those ends together, crimp a butt connector on one end and place the wires into the other end, crimp and apply heat. I took the paired white wires from the LED halo's and lights and spliced those to my brown wire for park lights. I then took my remaining white wire for the halogen bulb and spliced it to my blue wire for the signals. I then took my 3 black wires and spliced those into the ground wire. My truck had 2 black ground wires on the OEM harness, one was for the headlights, the other for the turn signal/parking lamps. I left the one for the headlights alone and used the ground wire for the turn signals/parking lamps. I then heatshrunk all those butt connectors, plugged in the hi and low beams, connected the OEM harness and verified everything was working properly, and that was that! It was all really easy, it took me about 1.5 hours after everything was said and done with a few distractions.

@0Ninja0Dude02 жыл бұрын
@@angelgaleana8467 lol I haven't installed them yet. But it's not hard. You'll need a multimeter. If you want the LEDs to work as Daytime running lights you'll need to find the positive wire that has power as soon as you turn the car on. If you want the LEDs to turn on only when your lights do you will want to find the wire that get power when you turn them on. Put the black end of the multimeter in the negative - terminal in the battery and then poke the red end + into prongs of your socket that plugs into the headlights harness. If they have power it will show it on the multimeter. You will have to do a process of elimination to figure out which one is headlights power and which one is ignition power if you want to use them as drl. (There's also videos of how to install drl on yt) You don't have to solder it comes with connectors but Ive heard mixed reviews on the lil t splitters and I have a soldering iron they and I wouldn't use electrical tape either heat shrink is super cheap and you just slip it on and run a lighter over it to shrink it. you will have to buy some 18g wire and some 18g wire connectors you can get them at Walmart or any hardware store. Hope this helps don't get to stressed out it should be easy to wire them either way. If anyone wants to wire properly, NEVER use those blue quick connectors. Make a proper pigtail with heatshrink butt connectors to keep moisture out and keep a solid connection. Also, with the male/female crimp connectors, don't put tape around the back. That will not keep water out. Use heat shrink tubing in place of tape to keep moisture out the back end and dielectric grease to keep the front ends from corroding. Not too much grease or it won't close together right.

@@dante6366 you just splice into your main headlight ..the one that has your regular and bright beams ,the model he had I wired it like that and it worked just fine.
@Specdtuninginfo13 жыл бұрын
@chemim888 that white blue is already connected to your high beams which you do not need to tap those, the only things you need to splice is the black and white wires which you would splice together with your parking lights

yes it is required if you would like the halos and LED's to light up. For the HID's you would need to ask whoever you bought them from.

@Specdtuninginfo14 жыл бұрын
@composingchef We are happy you asked. It is safer than a trial and error that can lead to more expensive problems. The parking lights are the recommended wire to tap to the car. Because the Halo rings do not require a lot of energy to have them light up. Please keep us posted if have further questions; we can go into more detail. Thank you.

So i noticed that there are two extra wires. One is black and the other is white with a black stripe. I looked up the part # that both of these lights came out of and it mentions a headlight load resistor kit. Is this necessary? And if not so I just cap the ends of the wires off?

@malikahsan1990 There is no problems using copper, we just recommend that you use the correct gauge; usually around 18-22 gauge should be fine; but also make sure that the splice connectors are big enough to tap the wires. I hope it helped, thanks and good luck.

@SpaceTimeManipulatorSTM8 жыл бұрын
+The Creationman paper instructions were completely useless. Also the video they had where I bought the lights was useless cause it didn't cover all the wires on my set up. Ive watched a few videos, and im still super confused. There was a minute long video where some guy had it all hooked up and just showed that. His video told me more than all of the spec d videos combined. This shit is confusing as fuck.

Bought some for my Jetta but they are all looks and work like complete shit! Honestly don't waste your money on these guys. The halo rings are barely visible, they use some cheap light bulbs to light up the rings. If it weren't for my 55W HIDS i installed on them they wouldn't even worth it. Not only that the light pattern that comes out of the projectors are horrible they are V-Shaped and you can not adjust the height of them. So my driver side one is shorter than my passenger side one its looks really bad from inside the car. The only good part was that the LEDS did work that where inside the headlight unit. Other than that i would not recommend these to anyone. Im just gonna wait till they kick so i can go back to my OEM ones. Also the wiring is horrific and a pain in the ass to figure out.

I agree bro. Installed it last week and already the low beam bulb is out. Money gone to waste
@jbads19899 жыл бұрын
That blows that they are fixed and not adjustable. But I think that is normal for driver side to be shorter than the passenger side. It is so you do not blind oncoming traffic.

The high beams are the ones closer to the LEDs. Those LEDs will turn on depending how you wired them. If you wire them to turn on with your halos then they will be on with your halos as DRL's

i followed this video and wondered why the halos werent on for my daytime lights as well as night time. my car has a daytime harness and a night harness 2 haresses going to the light so i had to wire to both, it worked but blew my daytime dash lights, i strongly suggest tapping into the fuse box, put the halos on a 10 or 20 amp fuse they will be on all the time and no power issues or issues with them only comming on with certain other lights, hope this helps for people in the same shoes

Did you check the wiring for the Halo lights if they were wired correctly?
@jlee903913 жыл бұрын
@Kikingmarikina yes you can as long as you remember, if you connect all the wires to one single power source, like your reg headlights on low beams they will not illuminate when you only turn on the orange driving lights

@RyanEnvy NP. Some cars have their parking lights on first before the headlights come on (I use it for parking structures, for safety reasons; without the headlights on). Parking lights will do; or you cant splice them to a light that is constantly on with your headlight beams. The halo/LED bulb require very little power (current). Any light bulb will do. However, please check what also comes on when your headlights are on. That will be your best bet. I hope it helped, good luck.

when testing the wires in the car to see what has power going to it, are you testing the wires for the headlight or the signal lights
@Specdtuninginfo13 жыл бұрын
@13ZenvoST1 Yes for our projector headlights they do come with bulbs and the sizes will vary upon the headlights, if ur purchasing euro headlights, please use your stock bulbs.

@RyanEnvy Sorry, i am unfamiliar with Anzo products. However, the first question your asking is right. There should be a ground wire. But to make sure, you should contact them and ask their customer service for more details. Second, the signal light are is missing; is because your suppose to use your stock turn signal harness and bulb. I hoped that it helped. Thanks and good luck.

I got the LED projector headlights for a 2000 Dodge Ram. Took forever to find install video. Video was not very much help. After going to the auto parts store and asking for more info, I got them wired in. Problem is, only one side of the LED lights work. Two out of four of them worked for a minute and now none of them on that side works. Super frustrating. No instructions in box. just a very blurry picture that was no help. Any ideas how to make LEDs work?
