Thank you Tessie for testing these dollar tree lids for us. I'm going to look for them this week. A few days ago I bought 20 packs of vegetables and herbs seeds at 4 for 1.00. I think I got carried away but I could not help myself. I hope I have enough room to plant all of these seeds on my patio in containers. I'll update everyone later in the spring and summer. Good deal on lids.I wish we had a dollar tree. Hopefully they will get them in the dollar store. Our dollar store has lids in boxes for 2.50 regular mouth and 3 or $3.25 I think for wide mouth. Not to bad.Have a good evening everyone.

Tessie, I have been using those Dollar Tree lids for 2 years and only ever had 2 not seal, and they do hold up for storage in the Pantry. Again, I am in Ontario Canada

I love a good science experiment, Tessie, and this definitely was one! You even had the Ball comparison lids for contrast! I'm so glad the dollar store ones worked so well. What a lot of money saved. Just think -- the cost of the beans was 25 cents per 16 ounce jar. Then the lids would have been approximately 13 cents per jar ($1.25 divided by 10). So the total cost is 36 cents each. If we were at the grocery store and saw 16 oz cans of beans for $.36 each, we would be super quick to buy them! I can totally understand why you're so happy you found these!

I bought them last year too. They work fine. I have had no issues at all. They sell out fast though. I was only able to get 2 packages last year to try...this year I have bought several more. I am impressed.

Hey Tessie, just a quick note letting you know that I have been using the flats-lids from dollar tree for my dehydrated foods whenever I vacuum seal my jars. They work perfectly fine. I have used them for waterbath canning and no problems at all with these lids. Let me know how well they work in pressure canners. Have a Blessed day 🙏 Deb g.

when I opened one it was sealed so good and strong I don't believe I have any issues I've been canning since and I've been using them today I can't over 30 jars of food with no issues

I canned pepper relish today. I had ground the peppers and onions this summer, and froze it. I use splenda for baking to sweeten it. I have a bit ( 2 pints ) of just the liquid left. I also canned it and I use it for salad dressing by adding a bit of olive oil. Yummy 2 for 1!

This is great news. I'll definitely test but for me personally, my real test is taking the bands off & then if they have a good seal by holding jar up just with the edge of rim, then fire me I'll b satisfied. Even with a few ball lids I found a false seal by taking the bands off. Plus a extra saving to still have the bands. I can't wait to go to Dollar Tree. Love you Tessie Dear.

Thanks for the video. I didn't even know that the dollar tree carried canning lids. I like the Ball and the Kerr, but, I've been using jars of food I canned last year with Ball and Kerr lids. I made stew last night with jars of corn, potatoes, and carrots I canned last year and the coatings on the inside of the lids was coming off and it was rusting. I've never seen that before and I went back to take the lids out of the trash just to double check the brand, one was a Kerr and the other was a Ball. I've eaten jars that I used the For Jars lids on and they did not do that. I am keeping all the good lids to reuse if there is ever a time I can't get new lids. I will purchase some of these lids and try them out for myself and I will buy some to put up for emergencies as well. Thank you again.

A couple days ago, I went there again & looked for them & found them hanging with the other kitchen utensils etc . I only bought 10 packs , since there were only 12 there . I bought a bunch 2 years ago I'm still doing good on them and I got them for $1.00 before dollar tree decided to up it's prices . But it's still a great deal. Definitely worth buying for dry canning that's what I used them for.

I always use my hands to try and get the lid off first to check for a false seal, then use can opener and listen for pop sound. You might be able to order these lids in bulk online if they work good for you. I'm interested in you doing a follow up over the next year with a follow up if they stay sealed. Mine will fail after a while and start to stink until I find the guilty jar.

Ball lids also give you the hiss when you open the jar... I haven't tried the ForJar lids yet so I don't know if they give you the hiss or not... I noticed you said you had to buy a case of the lids and you had to do it online. I went to their website and I saw that the shipping is free if you have it shipped to the store! That's good to know.
