As you say the carnival is rather subdued this year but understandable with covid still around. Carnival time is usually in the middle of our winter break but we aren’t going into Valletta this time to see what’s happening. We usually thoroughly enjoy whatever the weather, had very wet and lovely sunshine over a few years. 🤞it will be more normal next year. Thanks very much for sharing.

Hi Steve, I don't know if you know, or if someone has mentioned in the comments but this Carnival is held on the 5 days before Ash Wednesday, which is the start of Lent before Easter. It is the last celebration before the fasting in Lent. The Gozo carnival is world famous.

That was an excellent video and nice to see Valletta. The city is one of my favourite places to visit when in Malta. The carnival floats looked amazing and a lot of work must go into making the floats.

Hey Steve, thanks so much for showing us the different carnival floats. They looked fantastic! You chose a good time of the day to visit 😃👏🏼 I was a little sad to see that the Mall Gardens in Floriana are now pretty much none existent? I remember you did a couple of videos whilst they were working on them but don’t think you have been since the work completed? I may be wrong of course. I always love to have a little stroll through when visiting Valletta. Reminds me of my grandparents and also remember another time when Phoebe was a small baby. Many happy memories. Seems that many of the trees, plants and shrubs are now gone and it is very open. Not really a place to sit and relax anymore 😔

Yes, masks must be worn in any indoor public area, no masks when you eat or drink bars restaurants, but you must wear going in until you sit down, no masks outside
