I think we must believe him. If he says the Emperor has no clothes he means it. To say it’s only a sign of his inherent divinity is to wound him even further. I briefly encountered him when he was about 23. Up close he seemed to me like a very unhappy almost disassociated man of forty. After that I began to believe that the other one is far more likely a candidate...if indeed this whole phenomenon has some basis in reality and isn’t merely a man-made spiritual/political myth - seeing it all began about four centuries ago. In any event, this Karmapa has gone up incalculably in my estimation for his honesty and humility. I wish him happiness.

I've always respected you as a teacher and gained tremendous insight from your words. All my support to you His Holiness. Always felt a strong connection. I've always noticed that inner struggle in your expression and felt so realted. True example of fame, recognition, money, etc not bringing happiness to anyone. Listening to you in such a sincere and personal way really makes me appreciate you even more. We know you are a in a human form and understand that you are not perfect. Please, keep being strong as always and don't ever let those corrupted views around you make you feel bad about who you are. These words are so helpful to people like me who also think they're not enough, who knows many teachings - yet never enough - and don't seem to be able to penetrate them, or realize them, who is lazy and does not meditate as regularly and as frequently as I think necessary, and on and on the process goes. So, thank you for this inspiring encouragement!

Your Holiness, thank you for your honest open words. For some life can be very hard. For you, this is definately the case. And it will not stop. But I can say: Only those individuals get the big burden, who can potentially carry it. And the more the burden, the stronger we get. I can see this already happening with you too. Behind depression, anger and grief lies a strength which results from suffering. This strength is unbeatable! In my eyes, you are the perfect person to carry Tibetan Buddhism forward in the next very turbulent 50 years to come. As we all know, India is in great danger to be attacked from three sides at once: North, West and South. India will not be able to defend itself if this happens. No country could. And the 12 thousand year old culture will be lost to the world. YOU will be the only one, who then will be able to be the unifying figure of Tibetan Buddhism from your monestary in the USA. So kindly rest well and get very strong. Anger is a great strong force that can result in very benefitial personalities. Leadership has got to do with swarm psychology. The leader never belongs to himself. He sacrifices his personal life for the wellbeing of the community. If the community deserves our sacrifice? That is an other question. Most people will say: No. But to be a leader in very, very hard times seems to be your fate. And in my eyes you are perfect for this task.

Impressive - to be honest and truthful I love the most. This are real beings. First we have to make ourselves absolutely happy, then we are most useful for others... I send you light, Love, inspiration and what you need and wish. Try to find real brothers and sisters... That are friends even if we still make mistakes, this has also be allowed in our Sangha. Then we can grow ❤️and learn from each other.

His Holiness is indeed Wonderfull. Personally I have never had any doubts as to who is the real Karmapa. That is ever since I saw a photo in a shopwindow in Kathmandu 92 or 93, untitled, amongst many other photo, of a seven year old boy , and knew immediately that it was His Holiness. Hearing this talk, does not shake my faith in Him, on the contrary. Had he said "Yes, I am the Karmapa, I know everything", I might have got uneasy. Would that not have been a bit crazy in 2018 with the internet and all? After all, the core Realization of the Buddha is that He is just like anyone else. How brave and cool it is that His Holiness tells us he is just like us. As for carrying out enlightened Buddha-activity, as the Karmapa stands for, just look at this particular Karmapa`s activity, it is Full Power. Karmapa Chenno

Well, this is quite surprising on more than one level but I will refrain from putting my opinion into words. ... While I thank him for saying the animosity towards those on Shamarpa's side is a manifestation of the mind poisons, sadly, misguided devotees continue to post derogatory messages online to this day, reminding me how we were physically attacked with rocks at KIBI in 1994. I can honestly say that as a follower of H.H. Thaye Dorje, I have never harbored any ill will towards this candidate (putting it as neutral as I can and not wishing to be disrespectful), nor posted negative comments under videos concerning him or on social media. We all try to do our best and since none of us can recognize a true Karmapa we follow the decisions made by our root lamas, rinpoches & spiritual teachers. And if we exercise this right for ourselves, we must grant it to everyone or we have commited the fundamental mistake of hypocrisy. ... I do wish him, the sangha, all Buddhist practitioners, regardless of sect & affiliation and all sentient beings the best. May we all become liberated and then enlightened. OM MANI PEME HUNG

All these tibetan power structures & "tulku" lineages have NOTHING to do with the way of Buddha Sakyamuni. This doesn' t mean that esoteric buddhism or vajrayana are wrong from the roots .... but these idiosycratic structures in Tibet since centuries are.

If the Karmapa, or any spiritual leader, lies, it would be considered a serious breach of trust and a violation of the principles of honesty and integrity that are fundamental to Buddhist teachings. The concept "with great power comes great responsibility" is particularly relevant in this context. As a spiritual leader, the Karmapa has significant influence and power over his followers, and with that comes a greater responsibility to act with integrity, honesty, and compassion. If the Karmapa were to lie, it would undermine the trust and faith of his followers, and potentially cause harm to individuals and the community as a whole. It would also contradict the very principles of Buddhism that he is supposed to embody and teach. In Buddhism, spiritual leaders are expected to adhere to a higher standard of conduct, and their actions should always be guided by wisdom, compassion, and honesty. Karmapa Chenno. This video is history in the making. For such a high Tulku to be honest about his humanity is actually a sign of great purity, honesty and strength. We all need to be honest about where we are on the spiritual path and not self-aggrandise ourselves to be something we are not. This is actually a very great teaching in humility! Karmapa Chenno. So high expectations are placed on the young Tulkus and honestly i think it's only through life experience and practice that they develop the qualities that we suppose they are born with. I truly believe that the Karmapa is the fully realised Karmapa and that this is a great teaching. Also his words on ending sectarian strife are so wise and actually jusgt plain common sense. Sectarianism in Buddhism just looks so stupid. I have no doubt the Karmapa Ugen Trinley Dorje will be an even greater leader and example of Buddhism, Mahayana, Vajrayana in the future. Just the fact that he has written down his 108 guidelines for protecting the environment shows he is radically enlightened and compasionate... my faith in the Ugen Trinley Dorje only became stronger. By the way some Karma Kagyu people try and mislead by "blurring the truth" - statements like a misunderstanding etc . A monk should not tell lies - right ? IThis open dialogue is very very important, I want Karmapa to feel our support via the network and that we can communicate via this channel. sometimes we can struggle with our computers and the system of youtube and google and so on. I have and had not the impression that something is and was delated by someone. If this someone wants manipulate and this has a reason. Anyway we have to check that the mistake is not by ourselves and the dialogue with the Apps and programs. It is not easy. And be from your heart will always win in long term. Love you to support Karma even it is only by mind. Me too 😊. He and many others are awesome...

I think much of the structure of Tibetan Buddhism has become unproductive and really kind of stagnant, a hollow bureaucracy, people vying for power. It is a political game. Maybe the vast institutions will disappear, nothing lasts forever. Karmapa seems very sincere but if he is suffering and doesn't feel like he is actualizing the dharma then maybe he should go on retreat. Not sure if that would be a possibility given his public obligations but at a certain point you have to do what you feel is right. I hope he doesn't let his obligations eclipse his needs. I would be fine. I can still practice.

Except that your practice - if it's a tantric one - was brought to you and works only due to the oral transmissions being passed on for centuries. As the lama is everything in this context, if there is one tradition where a "let's get rid of higher/middle management" approach wouldn't work, it's Vajrayana Buddhism. It simply needs realized knowledge passed down and these days a certain burocratic framework is necessary. As a student of lamas & rinpoches devoted to H.H. Karmapa Thaye Dorje, I have not found conditions to be as described in your criticism, since I took refuge 25 years ago. I was always taught that the goal was to see things on the highest level and as fresh & meaningful, surrounded by friends and teachers taking many forms along the way. If you feel you're not advancing towards that goal (and in this video even Orgyen Trinley does not seem to) then something's not right.

You are correct in some of your observations..there is a flaw recognized by dharma teachers that the tibetan lineages came to the west and showed a certain sectarianism in their activities . This would be all the five lineages. There was emphasis on being able to have donations to firmly establish the tivetan culture and.k9nastic foundations in India ..as the Refugees from Tibet were many and it was.necessary to set up.monasteries .and schools to.preserve both the religious And secular culture ..a very big task obmver years from 1959 up.until.now. The gace that Tibetan li edges do not give full bikshuni vows to the many tibetan and western nuns who have taken vows in the Viniya structure of the tibetan ordination wants. This i feel.personally has created a situation. That has been not helpful . Young people are not coming to these traditional.practices ..and this is an indication that efforts must be made to see why. There is ongoing stubborn patriarchy in some areas.it has not been sufficient to the challenge of the 21st century ..andno high lamas have really agreed on this very important issue. These thoughts are not offered in a spirit of disrespect or resentment.. we.are told by Lord Gautama to question the system of teachings and be a light unto ourselves. IT IS NoT an expectation to accept the paths offered with blind faith.

the problem with sectarianism is that when you have a lama who is so sectarian that he pushes a practitioner away because that practitioner studied the teachings of masters from other lineages. All lineages follow the teachings of Lord Buddha, not just one. The other problem is that same lama decides that, instead of working toward our own liberation, we are only supposed to practice to make HH Karmapa's aspiration come true and nothing else. And I say this because I am living it....

Is it not an issue that he claims not to be the reincarnation of a great Lama? Does this not contradict Buddhist beliefs? How do you reconcile these statements with the teachings?

He's being honest. That's one of the precepts. Lots of people claim to be enlightened masters but how many are? Claiming enlightenment almost invariably means you aren't enlightened. The main point of Buddhism is to work on oneself, anyway.

oaxacachaka Fine. But then what do you make of the fact that the Karmapa is supposed to be a 900 year old tradition of tulkus? Does it make sense that he wouldn’t be a fully enlightened Buddha by now? Or do you interpret this as “skillful means”, whereby he tells us what we need to hear as opposed to what is true?

oaxacachaka. I mean whatever the Buddhist literature means by a “Buddha”, or a “tenth bhumi Bodhisattva”. Of course you can never check whether someone else is enlightened. But now I’m questioning the internal consistency of what the Kagyu tradition is positing: That the Karmapa is the seventeenth reincarnation of a highly realized meditator.

Andrés Collinucci Would a 10th bhumi bodhisattva say something when he saw dysfunction in the lineage? Or when people start using him as a crutch rather than embracing the teachings? I think he’s speaking honestly and from the heart and that is the essence of the teachings. He’s basically saying we are all in this together. I can’t speak to all of the dogma regarding reincarnations, etc because I am basically a westerner and since the time of Descartes we have have a very strong doubt about everything which cannot be logically established. Tibet has been culturally devastated and this religion has been thrown into a completely different cultural environment. Seems like changes will have to happen. What do we take refuge in, an external savior or an internal one? I wouldn’t really feel right about burdening someone else with having to save me.

You are definitely depressed and with good reason. Ever since you were “recognized” you were a pawn for power political machinations . Sadly this is not uncommon in the Tulku system, all the way to the top Tulku (you). Don’t give up ! What if we have 2 Karmapas?. If your predecessor wanted to emanate in two separate people he could have easily done it, he was a fully accomplished Buddha, he could accomplish anything.

You can trust Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche and the Khyentse Lineage as Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo studied with 120 different teachers of the four major and minor schools and they have kept the Non sectarain tradition ! ever since ! and Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche is THE MOST TRUSTABLE PERSON : Knowing Him for 37 years , I can garanty You he is ! and so humble as well , despite his vast knowledge !

14 December 2023 03:30:51 UTC.......OTD ( Ogyen Thrinley Dorje ) - why your 2nd Karmapa Karmapakshi (1204-1283 ) for all his magical powers could not see that a Zhamar Zhamed was coming in 1792 or thereabouts ? I address OTD because OTD is supposed to be the real Karmapa . For myself TD ( Thaye Dorje ) is the "Zhamar Zhamed fabricated Karmapa " where some Sakya people were also roped in . Both OTD and TD were born in Tibet .

Put aside fake or real Karmapa controversy, is it that relevant now? What's more relevant is what the Karmapa does. A person's deeds and doings far more important- our deeds good and/or bad follow us, cannot escape karma whether people believe it or not or what religious beliefs people have or not. As you phrase it politely "making things up" "incorrect explanations" hurtful remarks....people will reap what they sow eventually whether they like it or not. True goodness manifests itself through our deeds not on what others say or believe. Wish you well 🙏

he's correct - he is an ordinary man who has no ability to perform his role. there are no insights in this teaching, it is all the same cliches. He has an illegitimate daughter and plenty of legal problems. Meanwhile, millions of people throw cash at him, which he is unable to manage (even that). He is right, he will never reach the expectations that people have of him, because he is.... ordinary, like the rest of us. Stop believing in these fairy tales, that Orgyen Trinley was "chosen." he was chosen arbitrarily and he is failing, and his devout followers will not recognize the hoax.

If a president of any country in world or a leader of any kind says “i don’t have the confidence in the role of his duty then that means one thing and one thing only,, RESIGNATION!!! Of course he isn’t being crystal clear but definitely he is giving some hints, maybe soon when some people above him passes away then he might be more clear what he wants to do in life, just a thought of mine from this video which meant to be a live Skype session to the monks and nuns that have just completed a ceremony in bodh gaya but turns out to be a totally different statement

For the Tibetan Karma Kagyu credibility to remain intact it seems to require that your DNA profile show that your are not the biological father - therefore OTD ( Ogyen Thrinley Dorje ) - did you or did you refuse to provide a blood sample for DNA profiling ? WHAT ARE THE DNA PROFILE RESULTS ? This is based on Buddhist value of not telling lies .
