that was a Stoner 63 not an M60, you can see the number 63 even on the rear of the reciever. It was fast to reload, lighter than the M60 and both belt and or mag fed, but only used by the SEALS and other SpecOps. You can buy one if you have enough money, but they are very very rare. Stoner is also the designer behind the AR10, the beginning of the M16 family.

That belt fed machine gun that was being fired when Patrick says "I fucking love the 60" was fed from the right not the left. It's actually a Stoner 63A. A weapon not very common in the Vietnam War since only the U.S. Navy Seals used it. It was another one of Eugene Stoners' designs that was pretty ingenious. One reciever that could be converted into three different weapon systems. I'd like to see Jason and Patrick do a range video with one so they could see how they liked it. It's a 5.56x45mm belt fed squad automatic weapon that weighs at least a pound or two less than the M249 SAW they are probably used to seeing. Dammit man I wish I was half as smart as Eugene Stoner! 14:29 the gun there isn’t actually a M60, but a Stoner 63A. It’s a much cooler weapon (believe it or not) that was actually adopted by the Navy SEALs as the Mk23 Machine Gun during Vietnam. The gun was designed by Eugene Stoner, same man behind the AR15, and was actually meant to be a fully modular weapon system. Now, when I say modular, I really mean it. On one side of the reciever, it can feed from 30 round box magazines, but if you flip it over, it can be a belt fed gun. The Stoner 63 could be setup as an assault rifle, carbine, mag fed auto rifle (like the M27 IAR/RPK), belt fed LMG, and a vehicular mounted MG. The belt fed mechanism could be on either the left or right side, but the SEALs had the right fed version. The biggest advantage this thing had was weight. It fired 5.56, around 800 RPM, but the belt fed version of the weapon only weighed 8 lbs, 10 lbs loaded with 100 round belt. So imagine having a SAW that weighs about as much as an M1 Garand rifle. It was also incredibly accurate as well. Look up footage of the thing, the gun barely recoils!
