I know that this scene was played for laughs, but there's actually some great character work. Despite Kuzco starting to get along with Pacha, he's still so self-absorbed that he doesn't realize he's talking to his main (ex)advisor's personal assistant until Pacha tells him that Kronk and Yzma were in the diner looking for him. Even Kuzco and Yzma's mannerisms in the kitchen could be taken as a callback to Yzma's line of practically raising Kuzco from earlier in the film.

And even the ones with money that act like this, being this demanding and expecting one guy to stop everything for you does nothing but vault the flow of progress for every other customer, making less money as a result If there’s an issue in a store that’s built up a long ass line, especially if it’s a common event there, unless it’s important, does that REALLY kindle your desire to ever come back? You gotta curate your clientele at a certain point if you want to get anything done. I love this movie like everyone but Izms get a ending to a story arc in one movie

Yeah which is why the sequel and the TV series were so bad.

When I was a kid I thought the joke was that Kronk was dumb and recited utter nonsense back to waitress. Never realized he was talking diner food lingo.
@emantsrifemantsal98425 ай бұрын
for a commoners and peasants diner the food sounds kinda delicious despite how izma criticised the food seem "alive".

Kronk definitely deserved his own movie.

Actually, he did

What Dusk said; a couple years later, this film got a sequel aptly named “Kronk’s New Groove.” It ain’t as iconic as Emperor’s, but it’s definitely one of the best for giving us an inside scoop into Kronk’s future after Yzma was defeated.

Patrick Warburton’s a legend as an actor. He’s not just Joe Swanson & Principal Barkin; he’s also Brock Samson, Steven Stone in Scream 3, the Big Bad Wolf in Hoodwinked! & Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I watched this movie a bazillion times in the last 20-ish years and it's the very first time I notice how much detail there is in Cronk's motions while cooking for Yzma/Kuzco.

For all the discussion of Kronk repeating the order back to her, he is using American Diner Speak. 3 pork combos w/ extra bacon on the side= 3 oinkers wearing pant. 2 Chilli Cheese Samplers= Plate of Hot air (fart inducing) A basket of Liver and Onion Rings =basket of Grandmas Breakfast. (Liver and onions is a super old dish and onion rings are served in a basket like fries) A Catch of the Day= ???? A Steak cut in the shape of a Trout =Change the Bull to a Gill. Got it!
