Everytime I feel myself getting stuck, frozen and wanting to give up, I watch SBSM alumni panels and feel a surge in my spirit. These stories - the progress people are making and the active work they continue to do - really lift me up and give me hope again. I am very, very grateful to you all.

I LOVE how Bernadette was so beautifully articulate. How she named with exactitud and precision what was happening for her in her body. I actually started crying when she said “ I don’t like all eyes on me” as she felt it on her neck, I also felt it for myself at the center of my throat. I have done years of inner work ,all kinds of theraphy , many books , thousand of hours of KZbin learning, a degree in psychology and after all of that, and yet I am living a isolated and in a desperate situation without an income. I just discovered your work Irene and I will not give up until I can get myself to do this somatic work/ program, as there is a part of me that KNOWS I can overcome this crippling effect that has me feeling frozen and immobile in my own prison. I have big dreams of contributing to others one day and most importantly, I don’t want to die an unlived life.

This video is so inspiring. I am going to signup to SBSM. One major insight gained, is that when anxiety is coming up this is the body healing and to let this survival stress move through me. I felt relief when I heard this. This video gives me hope that I can and will heal myself.

I completely agree….I was gaslit so much by my “spiritual teachers” which further traumatized me. I’m so grateful that you spoke about gaslighting. ❤

Yessss. And, I'm sorry you've experienced abuse from those who were entrusted with teaching and guiding you. I can totally relate. I was even gaslit/gaslighted (not sure which one is the correct form? :D) and retraumatized with a major NS blow up (took me almost two months to regain any semblance of normality) by a duo of a "holistic" trainer and... a trauma therapist. It was just before I bought the 21days and it took me a couple of weeks to be able to even start the course. I'm pretty sure it was instrumental in helping me regain the tiny capacity I had at that time. I find it one of the most wonderful aspects of Irene's approach & application: there's no room for any sort of manipulation, gaslighting, abusive or unhelpful reframing etc. It's all just modeling of compassionate, loving support. Such a gamechanger! Sending all my best to you! Magda

I bought the sbsm course in February but had so much going on in life that I couldn’t even get past the first module. I’m so excited that it’s starting again and I can give it my full attention ❤

I could relate to every one of these panel members in some way. It was so good to hear so much confirmation that I’m not crazy and I AM healing! I am very much looking forward to starting my third round of SBSM, on my birthday no less!

Thanks Irene and all the panelists. Great to listen to all the stories. I feel like I’ve been on this journey awhile but have been learning so much about trauma and the nervous system in the past couple of years and really appreciate your content. Still so much to heal and I loved hearing Erin say she feels like she’s on the other side of it because sometimes it feels like healing is not possible or nothing is working (even though I know I AM healing) Interesting about the mitrò valve prolapse. I also have it and remember Dr Sarno (also referenced today) mentioning it as one of the things like pain. That gave me hope that it can be healed in me but my nervous system is not there yet. Liked Bernadette’s ending comment about not hunting for the cure. Thanks all.

Thanks Irene and panel for this video! Looking forward to joining my 2nd round of SBSM this month. Loved the part around 50" around the low grade level of anxiety and that it's a sign of healing. Really needed to hear that as I'm in that phase now for several weeks, albeit in a functional way sorta. :-)

Happy that it was helpful! In the past I might have written "Sorry that you're experiencing anxiety" but that's no longer true :) I am sorry about the experiences that caused all the survival stress to get stored in your system *and* I'm glad to hear it's coming to the surface to be met and felt because that means it can be renegotiated. Here's to our continued healing, with all its ease and discomfort! ;) All my best, Magda

Thanks for your kind message@@Wracamydonatury ! Onwards and upwards! I instantly felt better when I heard that low level anxiety was a good thing and a sign of healing. I couldn't have employed this kind of thinking if I hadn't been on SBSM for a while. It takes a while before one can see the blessing of actually being anxious. 😛 Dziękuję!

If you've got trauma, activities that normally regulate a healthy nervous system won't work. You must release the energy of shock from your nervous system,brain,bones,heart/meridians. A good energy healer can help with this.

@IreneLyon

@priusa8113, Jen here from Team Lyon. It might help to keep in mind that nervous system regulation is a spectrum. It's something we can continue to deepen into over time as we explore this work. Dysregulation can show up in many forms. To offers a few examples, it can show up as auto immune conditions, chronic pain and illness, issues with sleep, emotional reactivity, depression, anxiety, extreme loneliness, challenges with relationships, feelings stuck in any area of life, disconnected from one's purpose - and many more. Irene has a post about the 9 Benefits of Nervous System Regulation which may help to give you a sense (you might think of the opposite of these). 9 Key Benefits We Experience when the Nervous System is Regulated - irenelyon.com/2018/09/30/9-benefits-nervoussystem-regulated/
