SPECTACULAR F-35 SHORT TAKE OFF IN EMOTIONAL STORMY CONDITIONS • RAF F-35B 207 OCU RAF MARHAM

Two F-35B Lightnings based at RAF Marham request a STO (Short Take Off) in emotional stormy rainy conditions. Not only is an STO spectacular in its own entity, but the amount of spray generated makes it even more exciting as the F-35 disappears in the spray and then just appears hovering out of the spray.

The system is a descendant of the Pegasus engine, comprised of the Rolls‑Royce LiftFan®, Driveshaft, 3 Bearing Swivel Module (3BSM) and Roll Posts. RAF Marham is the home of the F-35 Lightning a 5th Generation, multi-role, stealth fighter. Marham operates the B model F-35, which is a STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) aircraft. The RAF omit the 'II' because this is RAFs third Lightning!
The Lightning’s short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) capability allows it to operate from the new ‘Queen Elizabeth’-class aircraft carriers and the vessels of allied nations, as well as short airstrips. The F-35B lands vertically like a helicopter and can take off in very short distances, allowing it to operate from austere, short-field bases and a range of air-capable ships.
207 Squadron formed in 1916 as 7 Naval Air Service squadron at Petit-Synthe, France, they were renamed 2 years later as 207 Squadron. They operated the Fairey Battle operational training unit at RAF Cottesmore in 1938.
In 1969, 207 Squadron reformed at RAF Northolt as the RAF Communications Squadron, but disbanded in 1984 but reformed in 2002 at RAF Linton-on-Ouse as 207 (Reserve) Squadron conducting Basic Fast Jet Training for RAF and Royal Navy pilots, disbanding again in 2012. 207 squadron stood up as 207 Squadron at RAF Marham as the F-35 Lightning Operational Conversion Unit in 2019. In their history which involved a lot of role changes, disbandments and reformation, 207 Squadron have flown the Airco DH.9A, Valiant, Avro Lancaster, Avro Lincoln and Tucano.

That's mad! Rolls Royce turbo fans elevate the aircraft in seconds. UK technology, US design. Spray makes it an awesome sight. But how is it possible🤔 ? Get the theory etc but still. Our very own RAF, Yes! And then the dance 😅
