I think plating of food wasn't always as important untill competitions like masterchef came to exist...its then that the looks of the food became as important as the taste.. ..food became prettier for the camera 😅😅... competition contributed as much to evolution of food science as julia child did

You need to show them struggles you overcome and growth to come from behind as an underdog. Regardless of what people think, this show is reality TV. Josh had less interesting things going for him than the other two, was honestly probably stronger than them both, which is a clear third. Showmanship is more important than food.

Mystery Box 5: The remaining 3 semifinalists (Andre, Jennifer and Josh) were excited when the 3 judges introduced guest judge Tessa Virtue (an Olympic ice dancer and gold medalist) to the judging panel as the special guest star. Tessa explained the theme of this last Mystery Box challenge of the season. The 3 semifinalists were tasked to create a stunningly elevated, dramatic dish with the theme of “Fire and Ice” using molecular gastronomy to elevate their plating to artistically inventive and innovative heights. Andre produced the best dish and won the Mystery Box.

I feel the first one didn't really have an ice element. Sure he crushed some frozen leaves in the kitchen, but those leaves are going to unfreeze in like 10 seconds on that plate, when the dish was served, there was no ice element left.

R/nextfuckinglevel. Seriously, this is a whole other way of cooking and presentating. Creating an ambiance with your food, not just taste and texture, is incredible; essentially creating a sensory experience that is more than gustation, vision and olfaction. The art of food and cooking is developing and im hoping to see more of these kind of dishes the next time I visit a quality restaurant.

Tbh the most we've done in chemistry lab is tie our hair..no gloves, goggles anything and we were working with pretty dangerous chemicals. I remember once we had to do this chemical reaction, the flask would get really hot so we had to cool it immediately. The girl went to cool it and it caused a mini explosion, some of the drops made holes in my coat..but thankfully nothing happened to my skin
