Porpoise Fucker it works and then it doesn’t. It shits out temporarily at weird times and then decides it wants to work again. No specific issue other than all the issues in random order that fix themselves after 20-30 minutes. It’s like the amp has a mind of its own. Yup my 212 was a pleasant surprise. Got it for the cost of the v30’s inside of it, I was prepared to turn right around and return it if it were shit, and I am finding myself unable to let it go. I almost got an Egnater Tweaker but I was more intrigued by this amp that was designed to take digital modeling signal. Id planned to use it as a tube power cab for my Axe 3 anyway. On its own it truly is a totally fine amp though. I didn’t at all expect that.

I run tube preamps into the loop return,so it's basically a Bogner power amp into a Vintage 30.I use them live on stage as a backline amp with other rack tube preamps.Works well with an AXE-FX as well, run outputs with no cab emulation into the loop returns, and run 2 outputs with IR cab emulation to Front of House.I bought one of them on Craigslist for $100 and traded a TS-808 Tube Screamer for the other.

And I love that spider valve played a lot of shows with it . You nailed it though about putting it through a 4x12 makes a huge difference. I have had the 100w Mark I head for 5 or 6 years. Without a doubt the best part of it is the 100w 6L6 Bogner designed power section. It has been a phenomenal power section to use with modelling preamps. I don't like thwe on board preamp, but thats why there is a loop. Hook up a decent cab...like the V30 white piping Spider Valve 412 cab, and its great. And it will make any modeller sound good...I've tried 4 or 5 through it, and it sounds decent on its own.

I just came back to this video 2 years later because someone near where I live listed the head for an INSANEly good deal. Hopefully the seller will still have it when I get my paycheck this Friday so I can snag it. It'll be interesting to see how it sounds with the 1960A cab alone and then paired with the Windsor head on stereo. But if I can't get my hands on it, it's not a total loss because I can always find another head that might be better suited for my setup.

Hi Glenn, Glad you finally tested the Line6 Spidervalve (I commented on your videos a couple of times suggesting you do), I used my spidervalve MKII HD 100 head for gigging and in the studio for 10 years but it's now replaced by a HD PRO unit. I made it work with 6, 7 and 8 string guitars but boy does it rely on a good cab to sound decent. It was an interesting ride and the biggest problem I had with the amp was reliability - tube problems, electricity problems, board problems - just all around consistency. It was a good run and I'm glad I had it because I learned a lot but I would not recommend it today. Not when there are so many better, cheaper and reliable options. Keep up the good work Glenn! Cheers from Croatia.

I got one last year for 300 CAD, came with a FBV shortboard and stock V30 speaker. Very loud amp. sounds great for the price.I sold it for 250 without the shortboard and the V30. Mesa dual rec for the win!
