Spectrum's Spiels: Doctor Who x Fortnite Cosmetic Choices

In the midst of a Doctor Who fixation after finishing the sixtieth anniversary specials, I got thinking of the long datamined Doctor Who content for Fortnite, and what I would've personally chosen as part of the pack. This short video is the result of most of the thinking I did; I also wanted to play around more with CapCut's editing features, and this was a good excuse.
Feel free to leave feedback on the video. In addition to that, why not leave suggestions for more potential short discussions like this if it's something you enjoy.

Turns out that clip of Ten regenerating wasn’t from Last of the Time Lords - rather, The End of Time. I *really* need to make sure I fact check this stuff properly…

More than just the doctor. If the first pack does well I believe there is rumours of a second pack titled “the drums” with a potential leak of Sacha Dhawan’s master. The drums title does relate more to John Simm’s master and maybe add Missy as well to round out the core modern master trio. For Whoniverse monsters obviously a Dalek wouldn’t really work as a skin, maybe a glider? But a Cyberman skin would be great!

Interesting take, I don't know much about Doctor Who but I do agree hitting a tree with a spoon would be hilarious, and I think the sonic cane would look awesome. Nice video mate.

Having the 3D glasses as an option for the Tenth Doctor would be great. "Bananas are good" emote (never gonna happen I guess) "Wibbly wobly timey wimey" emote. "Bowties are cool" emote. "Would you like a Jelly baby" emote. "Fantastic, Allons-y, Geronimo" could all be emotes too. If the Tardis will be a glider it should Materialize when you deploy it. Regeneration emote built in. Gallifreyan trail or wrap maybe? Or just a Tardis themed Wrap. Backbling, maybe a customizable one like the Tamagotchi one being able to choose between different companions, chibi versions I guess. For the pickaxe using the different screwdrivers as inspiration is the only thing I can think off. (11th Doctor has the coolest one)

After reading through all of these, I have to say I really like the idea of Gallifreyan text as a wrap. There’s an abundance of ideas, the problem is making them work and narrowing them down. Your input’s much appreciated.

It's already been leaked that the only Doctor skins will be the 14th and 15th, however you also gotta consider that the Classic Doctors would pretty never happen. Epic/BBC would need the actors' agreement for their likeness to be used in the game, and considering only a few of the actors who played the Doctor are in Classic Who are still alive... You get the point. Pretty much the same for the modern Doctors as well. Sure, Epic can still make a Doctor skin without using the actor's likeness (kinda like the Alan Wake skin) but then what's even the point? Personally I wouldn't enjoy playing as the 14th Doctor if the skin doesn't even look like David Tennant (which still might be the case as the skins' appearance themselves haven't leaked yet)

Absolutely correct, yes; I hadn’t thought of that until I was editing, but that’s a crucial thing when adapting a character who’s been played by a live actor for the vast majority of their existence, minus the few occasions like Scream of the Shalka, Dreamland, The Infinite Quest, etc, but even then they still resemble their actor in some way. This is why discussions like this are had. While decisions regarding the game have certain thresholds, speculation and discussion seldom do, and I like the freedom they present. Sorry for the short rant - I appreciate your time.

Out of all the doctors that would fit into a combat game, i think 3 would suit it best, being the most combat ready of all the doctors, hes a lot more action packed and james bond esc, i can deffinately clearly see him running around fireing guns, driving vehicles and blowing things up other than any other doctor And his excesively vast wardrobe allows for a wide variety of skins to choose from His glider would deffinately be the whomobil, his flying car

great video. I had hope for this collab, but hearing no news whatever from Epic. I expected some confirmation from them, like an release date or a teaser of some kind by now. It would be weird just to drop it out of the blue.

The feedback’s much appreciated. The delay is rather odd, seeing as the anniversary or the Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road, would’ve both been good release opportunities. If the collab goes ahead, I wouldn’t think Epic Games would drop it completely out of nowhere, not without a trailer or a tweet, surely.

Why not just have the sonic screwdriver as a harvesting tool? Quite sick of Epic not using the primary tool of the characters. Jedi should have lightsabers. It doesn't matter if it's just an aesthetic. That, or add a bare fists tool. 😭

Good question. I hadn’t thought of that. My first thought was “Well, maybe it’s specifically larger objects to make them align with the originals’ size”, but I did have Twelve’s spoon down as a tool. Perhaps it all comes down to visibility for players, making it easier to see what they have on hand? Regardless, thanks for your time.

You’d be surprised at how large the American following for the series is; the 1996 film may have never brought the series back, but the revival in 2005 definitely struck a cord with international audiences. You would be far from alone.

I had considered the Classics, given that Six and Seven’s umbrellas were in the Harvesting Tool segment, but I did still want to ground my ideas a little. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’d be a cool idea, but I’ve never seen nearly twenty skins in one set before, and I don’t think I will. That said, I appreciate you taking the time to check this out.

I had briefly thought about the Classic Doctors, but unless I’m mistaken, they don’t tend to have more than four to six skins sets available at a time, so I personally having (technically) seven skins in a set is quite generous. That said, you’ve given me the mental image of the Eighth Doctor aiming an assault rifle from the window of an SUV, which I thank you for. Thanks for checking this out.

You’d be correct regarding the Doctor’s stance on firearms and solving problems with violence as a whole, but it’s worth remembering that they’re no stranger to putting an end to less than pleasant proceedings by any means necessary - the War Doctor’s a prime example of this. For fortnite its can be a great staff to add doctor as a main battlepass hero,1 hero with all actors right from first docotr to mudern doctor who have b-in- emote ForRegenetion ,and like omni sword,or like starwars survivor lightsaber do castome sonic screwdriver who with empulse(damaging 20damge like pixes meterial and player),all side charactors can be in a shop,

I personally don’t see the Sonic acting like a weapon, at least in most cases, but I could see it acting the same way as a keycard, used to access certain things that most others can’t.
