Speed Gears - Episode 1

Mistakes were made. This whole project is filled with incorrect assumptions, crappy rigging, Forrest learning how to talk, and general bad decisions combined with a lack of mechanical sympathy. We do successfully swap the E-Z-Go TXT axles, though. This episode is more of a cautionary tale than any kind of how-to guide. Follow along as we make our pre-existing situation worse and create more opportunities for future videos. Yep, we are going to have to redo this whole thing once (perhaps, if) we can figure out what went wrong with the gear install. Let us know what you think about the result.
Lug Nuts: 3/4”
Shock nuts: 9/16”
Axle bolts: 9/16”
Spring hangers: 5/8”
Motor bolts: 7/16”

What size tires were you running?

For future reference yes you can jack the cart up by the rear differential you're still putting the jack stands in the same place it would make the process faster and give you more clearance to have the rear end higher off the ground when it set down on jack stands then you use the jack to lower the rear end down once you have everything unbolted makes life so much easier

Hey guys, you ever have any luck with the speed gears on the ezgo? What the noise was or is that really a normal sounding gear noise? It's not like your making anything but the ring gear spin faster nor did you change the gear pitch of the teeth. So yeah? That would get pretty annoying pretty fast for a 10mph increase in speed lol!

Never figured it out... ended up putting stock rear end back in and upgrading the controller for more speed.

@@LetsBuildThat I ended up doing mine a few months ago with no issue. I didn’t have to pull it back apart because it was leaking because I didn’t use enough RVT but that’s my only downside other than I should’ve went with a 6 to 1 ratio than an 8 to 1

Please the stop sign in your garage doesn’t look good, children might get the wrong idea and remove one from the street . I’m sure that’s not where you got yours .
