I know the leaked screenshot was pretty grainy and low-res, but I think I actually like the darker lighting. Kinda reminds me of Bayview from NFSU2. Especially when they have those low-res skyline skyboxes, or low-res window textures with the golden light inside.

I've sometimes wondered why you were still able to re-spawn at the beginning of an Act upon either death or Pause > Restart, despite there being lampposts to spawn from. The game's stages were probably originally just one whole huge level and just streamed entire acts instead of taking a 2-3 seconds to load the next Act. That might be why those objects remain there on 11:27.

SA1's development, pre-release versions and both the JP/International releases are so fascinating in many ways. Speed Highway and some other levels like Final Egg got screwed over in the DX Port, especially due to the huge downgrade in lighting, as well as textures making the levels not as atmospheric as they were meant to be. Although the DC conversion mod fixes that, i can't help but feel like the original Dreamcast version is still better in some ways, like it not having that one useless speed shoes capsule in Amy's version of Twinkle Park, but i won't know if they didn't fix actual level design elements and item placement for sure unless i do comparisons between the 2. (Even then, the differences probably would be incredibly minor for the most part.)

I Like to go on Sonic's path with Tails. The momentum you get from rolling into a ball down the halfpipe is insane. Getting the wall run on the skyscraoer to access this is tricky, but you can bypass the script by doing a small jump at the right time while the road is turning sideways - then you'll be running on the wall. (You can get there by flying backwards too, but going up the halfpipe from the bottom is wickety whack~)
